Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 will be exclusive to the Galaxy S8

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835

During the last CES celebration that was held in Las Vegas earlier this year, Qualcomm officially presented the new processor that has been developed in collaboration with Samsung, the Snapdragon 835, a processor that leaves the previous models of the company. Days after its announcement, last November, I published a news item stating that the next Galaxy S8 would be the first smartphone on the market with this processor, something that it had been questioned afterwards due to the delay of the launch of the Galaxy S8, scheduled for April 14, as other manufacturers could launch their flagship searches at the MWC in Barcelona.

But it seems that this exclusivity movement was correct, since according to what we can read in both Forbes and The Verge, Qualcomm's new processor, the Snapdragon 835 will be launched exclusively and before any other terminal, in the Samsung Galaxy S8, which will force other manufacturers to delay the launch of their devices, or make use of the Snapdragon 821 processor, something that may derail the plans of some of the companies that had relied on this processor for their flagships such as HTC Ultra, the LG G6 or the Nokia 8.

Both LG and HTC, like Nokia in its new rebirth, had trusted to be able to offer a terminal with the latest features making use of this new Qualcomm processor, to be able to get the most out of the device. Precisely LG already faced a similar problem a couple of years ago, with the launch of the LG G4, when the Snapdragon 810 showed excessive heating problems and no short-term solution views at the time.

If Qualcomm is having problems with some manufacturers who are choosing to make use of their own processors, it is very likely that this move, could accelerate the change of supplier of third-party processors. These manufacturers could choose to make use of the Exynos of Samsung, the Kirin of Huawei, the MediaTek or the processors that Xiaomi is working on in recent months.
