Realme Buds Q2 - A Revelation at an Extreme Price

The headphones TWS They have become so popular that their prices are already bordering on the cost of traditional wired headphones of yesteryear. If we add to this that many devices now do not even have a 3,5mm Jack port where to connect headphones, white and bottled: milk.

Realme in its eagerness to continue producing devices with a very adjusted value for money presents the Realme Buds Q2, headphones at an extremely low price if we take into account its functionalities. Discover these new Realme headphones, their features and why they have automatically become a desirable entry-level device.

As on many other occasions, we have decided to accompany this analysis of the video that you will find at the top of it. Materials and design

I have really bet on these Buds Q2 for an extremely recognizable design, so much so that they are very similar to the previous model. The case is very compact and is made of a matte plastic that resists fingerprints well. It is quite comfortable both at the pocket level and for its treatment in hand. Despite the construction materials, we have a solid and stable design. We have a microUSB on the back that will allow us to charge the device, for its part the front area is left with a LED indicator for the autonomy status of the Buds Q2 while at the top reads the logo of Realme without too much fanfare.

  • Headphone Weight: 4,1 grams each
  • Charging case weight: 31 grams

You can purchase them in black (unit analyzed) and in blue. For their part, they have cIPX4 certification that will allow you to use them for exercise and they will easily resist splashes without too much problem. The headphones themselves have a fairly industrial design, are in-ear and come in the box with three replacement ear pads apart from those included by default. The USB-A to microUSB charging cable is extremely short, approximately ten centimeters, and is manufactured in a yellow color so representative of the brand.

Technical characteristics

These Realme Buds Q2 have a connectivity system Bluetooth 5.0 so usual. This allows us good sound ranges, we have not found problems in moving between 10 and 15 meters away from the sound source. In the same way, it will help us to enjoy automatic connection when we take them out of the box and it will stop playing once we put them back in. I have not encountered any problem during the development of the analysis at the connectivity level, tBoth at the level of cuts and with respect to the stability of the connection made with the Android device, specifically Huawei P40 Pro that we have used for the tests.

  • System noise cancellation on calls
  • System ultraboost to improve bass performance

The Realme Buds Q2 are compatible with a low latency system that can be managed through the connectivity system that we will talk about later. This will allow us to enjoy 88ms latencies when playing, so we will get rid of that unpleasant delay that is usually experienced in this type of low-cost headphones when playing games as well as when playing content on YouTube or Netflix. In that regard, the Realme Buds Q2 have delivered.

Sound quality and autonomy

We find headphones that mount 10mm drivers for each of the units. They are not small, nor excessively large. We are going to say that they are sufficient for the experience they want to sell us. With its in-ear system and relatively well-made ear cushions, we found passive noise cancellation sufficient to enjoy music. As for calls, the microphones do their job, something that is interesting if we are going to use them while working. You can see their quality in the video that accompanies this analysis.

  • Well stabilized basses, do not cover the rest of the notes
  • Mids and highs that suffer outside of commercial music, something very understandable considering the price of the headphones

It has 400 mAh of autonomy in the box, in theory it gives us around 20 hours of total autonomy, around three hours when we talk about continuous playback in each earphone.

Realme Link and user experience

The Realme Link app, available for both Android and iOS, It is a fundamental tool in the use of headphones. We can easily synchronize them and it will show us both the battery and we can customize between three different audio modes:

  • Improve bass
  • Improve calls
  • Dynamic audio

Taking this into account, the application becomes an almost indispensable element for this purpose, always an added value. We have not seen a trace of a possible software update, something that has surprised us considering that it will be released relatively soon.

For its part, We found a good response in terms of the touch control of the headphones, something to be appreciated. However, due to their design and weight, we are not surprised that after a lot of "handling" they end up falling off the ear. If you are one of those users who has problems when it comes to wearing in-ear headphones, these Realme Buds Q2 are not going to be excessively comfortable.

The headphones will be released on Next May 18 at your usual point of sale and they will arrive at a price of 29,99 euros, directly competing with low-cost products in the TWS headset market. They should take note of the work that Realme has done with the Buds Q2 that are considered as a highly interesting alternative due to its value for money, of course its sound corresponds to higher priced products although the design and materials clearly remind us that it is a low-cost product.
