6 reasons why you should never buy a high-end smartphone

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),

In recent days I have been seriously assessing the possibility of acquiring a high-end smartphone, whose price far exceeds 600 euros. Finally and after a deep reflection I have decided that I am not going to buy it, and I wanted to share my reflection with all of you through this article that I have titled "6 reasons why you should never buy a high-end smartphone" and that I hope you find it interesting and can even help you at some point.

Before starting with the reasons that have led me to make the decision not to finally acquire a high-end mobile device, I want to tell you that I will only show you 7 of the reasons for my final decision, although I could tell you that many have come into play plus. If you are also considering the possibility of acquiring a new smartphone, my recommendation is that you use a sheet to place the sales and the disadvantages, and above all take your time to make a decision and do not let yourself be driven by the rush and impulse .

Its price; a real nonsense

Samsung

It is clear to me that a high-end smartphone offers us the best features on the market, a careful design down to the last detail and in most cases a series of options and functions that are not available on any mobile device. Nevertheless I think the price of these terminals is nonsense, which in most cases exceed 700 euros, which unfortunately is the salary of many people today.

At the time of buying it I have valued the option of acquiring through a mobile telephone operator, who of course take advantage of the occasion to "set" a rate, also high-end and for which you must pay another nonsense for a minimum of 18 or 24 months. There are also the options to finance the device, but this means in most cases an expense that only increases the final price of the smartphone. Of course there is also the possibility of paying it in cash, but calling me weird or different, but spending more than 700 euros in a single payment for me is something inconceivable, not because I don't have it, but because it would hurt so much that I would never consider it even if he had the money available.

In a few days I could get to be worth half

Like almost all the products we buy, just take our new smartphone out of the box, it loses much of its value, no matter how hard we try to take care of it or keep it practically pristine. In some cases and depending on when we acquire our new terminal, it can be worth half or even less.

When buying a high-end smartphone, if we are finally going to do it, it is essential to buy it at the ideal time and taking into account the next launch that is going to be produced. It makes little sense to buy a Samsung Galaxy S6 a few days before the presentation of the Galaxy S7, unless we get it for a knockdown price, something that is usually quite common.

Your design is a problem

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),

Most of the so-called high-end smartphones have a design taken to the extreme, using premium materials and with very careful finishes. This, which is undoubtedly a positive aspect, also has a negative one and that is if one of these terminals falls to the ground, it could be damaged very easily.

I will be a strange man, but I do not like to carry my mobile device with a cover, so it is not the same that I drop a smartphone that has cost me 200 euros, than one for which I have paid or am paying 800 or more euros. Of course, if either of the two terminals falls and damages me, I think it would be just as bad for a few days.

Your smartphone, your treasure

I'm convinced that When you buy a high-end smartphone, everything changes around you and that mobile device becomes one of our greatest treasures, which we have to take care of at every moment. I must admit that on another occasion I have had one of these terminals, which I was paying religiously for a little over a year, and which I watched as if it were a treasure, considering many people as possible thieves of my precious mobile. Madness or not, there is no doubt that an iPhone or a Galaxy S6 in your hands makes you, unfortunately and although it sounds bad to say, a possible victim of a robbery.

More and more thieves are dedicated to stealing mobile devices and it is that its exit in the market is really good. If you are going to buy a high-end smartphone, try to keep it in safe places and always have it in view to avoid a dislike of enormous dimensions.

We can find something very similar at a much lower price

I know that to many this reason is going to seem a real stupidity, since there is nothing similar to an iPhone 6S or a Galaxy S6 Edge, at least in terms of design, but yes there are similar terminals in terms of performance at a much lower price.

For example, Chinese terminals are increasingly fashionable, which for less than 300 euros in many cases offer us characteristics and specifications similar to those offered by the so-called high-end terminals. Huawei or Xiaomi devices are high-end terminals at a more than interesting price, although yes, their design is very far from any Samsung or Apple terminal in most cases.

We are not going to take advantage of it

LG

Most of us who have a smartphone use it for little more than to take pictures, send messages through one of the most popular instant messaging applications or surf the web. For this we do not need in any case to spend a huge amount of money to have a high-end terminal.

If you are not going to show off your mobile device and just save a few hundred euros and take advantage of them to go on vacation, for example.

Opinion freely

The mobile phone market is experiencing a tremendous boom in recent times in which manufacturers launch mobile devices every year, or even less time, with the assurance that users will launch to purchase them with the aim of have the latest model and enjoy the latest features and options. Today, and in my opinion, most high-end call terminals have crazy prices, which, however, do not make users look for other options.

I'm convinced that there will come a day that, as in other markets, the mobile phone market will contract, and all manufacturers must lower the price of their flagships. While that day arrives, anyone who wants to have a high-end smartphone will have to pay a huge amount of money for it, although you may be able to buy a high-end device, after a while. In this article we make some other recommendations for have a great smartphone without spending too much money.

Are you one of those who pays to have a high-end smartphone or one of those who like me prefer to lean towards other options?. You can give us your opinion in the space reserved for comments on this post or by making use of one of the social networks in which we are present.

I am very happy with my z30, I use it as a computer on any monitor, it is very complete, it never fails and the battery lasts a long time, and it is not as expensive as the high-end ones, you have to look for functionality before fashion

When you buy a mobile you have to know if it is really worth the price it has, since a 6Gb iPhone 16S cannot have a value of € 750 or a Samsung s6 € 600.
Today, prices are very inflated, but there are many people who buy the mobile for the brand and not for the utility.

In general, I think they are all very inflated and what happened with the real estate market will happen a bit ...

I agree. I bought the Samsung S5 when it first came out, I bought the mini because the other one is too big and uncomfortable for my liking. The truth is that for what it cost I expected more and in reality it is the same as always with another name (except for some new functions that do not make a big difference). After you buy it and use it, you realize that the price is very exaggerated.

If you have the money buy it and enjoy it. If you are not looking for similar alternatives that Hot day entered the market very well with less investment

Hello! The article is very good and I agree with it, that also happens with the current Nexus, especially the Nexus 6p, too expensive and something that I am looking at is that the previous Motorola Nexus 6, is very cheap that if a little more bigger than the 6p, but I don't care, I'm going for it, I had planned to buy the LG G4, but no, I got used to the updates per day (because I had the 5Gb Nexus 32, but unfortunately it damaged me) and that is something that I liked, apart from the fact that the interface of the Nexus is totally clean and without so much garbage that spoils the performance of the equipment. So God willing, I'll go for the Motorola Nexus 6, which will be updated until another year and part of 2017. Cheers!

I bought a normal S6 in a buy / sell store 1 month after its release on the market 130eu cheaper than its price at that time (699. Totally brand new and the insurance that I put on it, a bargain, it would cost me all a few 250 eu more expensive if I get it at the orange telephone company (which is mine) in the rest I imagine that too. I mean that if you decide to buy a high-end mobile you have to stop a lot when buying it, there are many Alternatives where you can buy it cheaper when it goes on the market. Regarding the mobile, say that I am quite satisfied and I think it was quite worth it, this is the first high-end that I have and the difference with the Sony Xperia SP is very noticeable The only thing that I find similar is in the performance of the battery, this one will have a lot of EXYNOS processor but its battery life does not match its price, the only thing that charges fast.

Who made this post does not have a high-end smartphone. We'll see:

    1. The price of a high-end smartphone is logical because you are going to take a machine that has everything and because it will last you for a long time. In addition to that you will have the latest Android or iOS updates.
    2. No smartphone is worth half the price in a few days. This usually happens after months.
    3. Design is no problem. It is the most beautiful of the smartphone. If you treat your smartphone well, it will last you a long time. It depends on the care you put into it.
    4. More of the same. Take good care of your smartphone and nothing will happen to it.
    5. Here you have some reason. You can find something similar cheaper but you will miss everything that a high-end smartphone really has. The differences are quite remarkable.
    6. This is already more subjective. There are those who buy it on a whim, to show off, to just walk on WhatsApp, but there are also those who get all the juice from the smartphone (they take advantage of it 100%).
    7. I am the owner of a Galaxy Note 4. I have had it for 1 year and I have it as new, without any scratches. And I will continue with this terminal for a couple of years. Think carefully about which one you are going to buy and what you are really going to use it for. Every terminal has functions that people are unaware of even having it and that can be very useful. And I'm going to stop here already xD.

    Regards !!

A very interesting article for the 5% of buyers who analyze their investment. The remaining 95% buy a high-end for a simple reason: By Status

Today for the vast majority a cell phone is synonymous with Social Status and you may not have to eat, pay for services or the Mortgage. But bringing a brand new high end is the perfect simulation that you are successful in life.

This explains the ridiculous prices at which these equipment are offered

Reasons not to buy a Premium mobile:
    1 I don't have a turkey
    2 I'm a flute dog
3 Out of tune with the decoration of my shack
    4 I have no balance
    5 I can't read or write
6 They steal it from me if I camp in Puerta del Sol
7 If I sell it after using it, I don't earn anything

Very true man, I pay for a galaxy note 3 and they will not update it and decide to buy a Xiaomi direct from the factory for only 1/4 of what the Samsung came out

Mr I differ, Huawei in high-end has a quality and design at the level of Samsung and Apple, the problem is that they are worth the same, investigate well

Many ask for a high-end if they did not even take 100 of its true capacity ps a very good option would be to opt for medium ranges such as motorola or huawei they have a good design and it is affordable for anyone and with improvements almost in everything

The high-end are not for children or for the poor. If the total cost represents only a fraction of your fortnight, the rest of the arguments lose steam.

Mr it seems that it is incoherent to buy a high-end smartphone just because it is fashionable or a friend has it, the first thing to consider is its functionality, in my case I have an S5 and it is not that I cannot change it for the S6 but no I see it productive

Take advantage of the reduction in price for you who can (Europe) buying phones after two months that they have been released. At least in Mexico if a phone costs 11000 (€ 600 approx) pesos when it is released after 10 months it still costs the same 11000, here the operators are very abusive, the worst thing is that there are sonzos that buy the model from the year before these prices and two weeks later the new model comes out with a minimal price difference, all for wanting to follow the mass.

It is a very silly article, I got a lot out of my high-end phone, for the speed of response and the quality of the camera. Of course there is no shortage of pessimists who complain about the economy and want to be pitied, but you just have to keep in mind that they are phones to use for a long time, not to change it every 6 months ... I have a Nexus 6 and never I would compare it to something in the mid-range… .. The quality can be seen, it is felt, it is noticeable and it costs… Each person can buy what they want or can.

I have a z2 and the truth is I do not regret having spent a good amount of money since I get the most out of this little toy
The response speed of its processor, the long battery life, its OTG connectivity adapt to my television, its camera, since I can perfectly scan documents and edit them and its memory expandable up to 128 gigabytes. I will not change it, it will be that I like to take advantage of my investment!
Forgive to show it off but I recommend it luxury!

The price of these mobiles is equivalent to a salary when you pay it in cash (something that few can afford and something that whoever charges amounts close to what a mobile of these characteristics is worth will never do). Not to pay it that way and take it for financing or installment sales by a telephone company. Let's take the example of the S6 when it came out, the normal 32GB at 699, this financed for 24 months would cost us € 25 / month which would be just over 3% of the salary of a person who charges € 800, for example. It does not seem like a powerful argument to me not to buy a high-end mobile, which for just under 700 you can have it and it will also pay you for time.

  23.   bertou said

    I wanted to say € 29 / month

On top of that, the high-end phones bring a number of spectacular effects and a farting battery. With the animated background you run out of battery at the touch, you have to control the brightness at all times, it doesn't

Most people, both those who have the financial solvency to buy a batch of high-end phones and those who go into debt to buy one, rarely stop to think if they will really take advantage of the capacity of the terminal. I have noticed that people who have phones this expensive do it on a whim, for status, to compete who has the most expensive phone (something super silly) or to keep up with technology. The truth behind it is that they are victims of marketing and programmed obsolescence.

I am more than satisfied with my moto G, I can chat with all social networks, watch HD videos, manage work from Google Drive, start video calls, use remote desktop, take and view photos and videos decently (you know that what affects the quality of the images is the aperture of the focus more than the MPx that the camera has), I have access to the 4G network ... The same thing that a high-end can do, but for much less money. Maybe I'm a very undemanding user hahahaha. Greetings!

I have an iPhone 7 plus clone, it cost me 3 thousand, cheap compared to 25 thousand pesos, and it works the same, it looks the same and the finishes are luxury, very thin, elegant, of quality parts and it takes good photos, it has good calls and very good phone signal and wifi, I have my apps and it's fast, it's a super cell phone, and I think it was worth its price, even cheap for how it looks and works. And I didn't have to pay 20 thousand, and my friend has it original and we use it for the same, photos, music, and the Internet, so I think I was smarter hahahahaha.
