7 reasons why you don't need a high-end smartphone

Samsung

The mobile telephony market continues to move in recent times at an absolutely enormous speed that means that the different mobile devices that are officially presented have an increasingly shorter useful life and that in some cases it does not even reach the anus. I have already said and repeated it on more than one occasion, but I am increasingly convinced that nobody or almost nobody needs a terminal of the so-called high-end.

The reasons for giving this statement are many, although today I have decided to leave them at 7 to create this article that I have baptized as 7 reasons why you don't need a high-end smartphone and that I hope it will be useful to many users so as not to spend a huge amount of money, and to have a real beast in their hands that we will not know or cannot get too much out of.

If you are thinking of buying one of the high-end terminals that are available on the market right now and spending a huge amount of money on it, read carefully, and you may change your mind. Even if you have fully decided, and the money prepared and ready to pay for your new device, I have to insist once again that you keep reading. If you have never thought about the possibility of acquiring one of these terminals, I also recommend that you continue reading, perhaps you will learn something and prepare yourself to never fall into the enormous temptation of buying a mobile device of the so-called high-end range.

With a more or less normal design we can confirm

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),

Most manufacturers, given the little room for improvement they have in their mobile devices, have decided to focus largely on offering attractive designs, which sometimes become extravagant and also unnecessary. Most of us settle for a more or less normal design and do not need a curved screen without much utility or a metallic finish that will scratch more easily.

The designs are also paid and also influence us, but unlike what almost all manufacturers believe less and less. And it is that few users dare to carry their device without a cover or protector, which in the end end up leaving that design in a second or third plane.

We don't need an 8-core processor

A huge number of smartphones currently mount 8-core processors that run at blazing speeds and that nobody or almost nobody need no matter how much we use our terminal for almost everything.

To carry out the usual tasks that we carry out with our mobile device or to play any of the available games, a good number of processors do not hurt, but in no case 8. I would almost say more than this a way to highlight how not long ago they were the amount of megapixels, which is something we should look at when purchasing a new mobile device.

And of course we don't need 6 GB of RAM either

OnePlus 3

If the 8 processor cores are not more than enough and we even have some left over, the same happens with the 6 GB of RAM that some manufacturers are beginning to mount on their flagships. Many computers that are currently sold on the market have 4 GB of RAM and they serve us practically for everything. I myself have a computer that has 2 GB of RAM, which I still use in my daily life for certain things and with which I carry out much more activity than with my mobile, and it works perfectly.

So much RAM can be fine so that everything works perfectly and without problem, but it is more likely that with 4 GB it will work just as well, but yes, that a terminal reaches the market with 6 GB of RAM is right now something necessary if what you are looking for is to attract the attention of potential buyers.

We don't need a 4K resolution screen

Watch a movie or series on 4K It is something absolutely extraordinary and that almost everyone likes, but nevertheless having a screen on a smartphone with 4K resolution is of little use, firstly because the battery consumption will be much higher and why the existing content in this format is still very scarce.

The possibility of having a screen with 4k resolution is not bad, but I think sincerely that it is something that nobody or almost nobody needs and for which we will have to pay a good amount of money when buying a smartphone. As you ask what I launch on the air, how many videos have you seen in recent times that are available in 4K? I can almost give you the answer, if you have Netflix maybe a couple of them, if you do not have it I would almost dare to say none.

The memory has to be expandable, what are you doing Apple?

iPhone-SE-04

Not too long ago, the big manufacturers on the market were inclined, as Apple still does, because their big flagships had internal storage that could not be expanded by microSD cards. This is undoubtedly a great inconvenience since if after spending more than 700 euros we are going to run out of storage space in a few days, we are going to get angry and very angry.

Nowadays most manufacturers have reconsidered and already allow to expand the internal storage. However, Apple is still anchored in the past and offering a 16 GB iPhone that leaves just over 10 GB available for the user, so we will have spent more than 700 euros not to be able to install the applications we want, or save the photos that we need.

The camera has to be of quality, but we do not need great extravagances

Mobile devices today have become authentic cameras that allow us to take photographs of enormous quality and that sometimes have little to envy to compact cameras. However, I think that nobody sometimes needs cameras of such quality, since we will use them to save memories that do not need to have an extraordinary definition or very high characteristics.

Yes it is true that at this point I'm not entirely convinced since I think the better camera a mobile device has, the better, but I think that we should not spend a huge amount of money on a terminal depending on its camera, since there are currently more than interesting devices on the market with high-performance cameras, almost identical to those of the high-end terminals .

I neither want nor need to pay more than 700 euros

Samsung

Maybe you feel the inner need to spend 700 euros or even more to buy a mobile device that will have a market tour of less than a year, but I do not feel it for the moment. And is that spending a huge amount of money on a new smartphone means that we will have the latest in the market, but as we have already explained most of the things we will not need and what is worse we will not take advantage of it to amortize the amount of money.

I know that many of you will refute everything I have written in this article, but honestly I am of the opinion that I prefer to buy a cheap smartphone, with good features and to be able to renew it every so often than to spend a real fortune in a high-end and not be able to renew it until you've squeezed it for at least 2 or 3 years.

Also here come into play the so-called mid-range smarthpones, which are increasingly closer to the flagships in terms of features and specifications, but at the same time they are well below the final price.

Opinion freely

In this article I have explained 7 reasons why you or anyone else needs a so-called high-end smartphone, however most of us at some point in our lives end up buying it, for some reasons or others.

Most of these reasons have to do with wanting to be up-to-date without paying attention to anyone's advice and in a large percentage we end up regretting having acquired this smartphone.

I will not be the one to say that it is wrong to buy a device of this type and spend a huge amount of money, but Before doing it, you have to think about it a lot and value many things, unless we take over the money or have it for punishment. In this case it does not matter if you need it or not because you will care little about almost everything.

Do you think that a normal user needs a high-end llama smartphone?. Tell us your opinion in the space reserved for comments on this post or through one of the social networks in which we are present and where we are eager to be able to debate with you on this topic and many more.

I would have liked you to comment something about the sensors that a high-end brings that a mid-range one would lack.

There are mid-range phones that include high-end sensors, for example infrared. Look at Xiaomi mobiles

I have a Xiaomi redmi note 2, which is mid-range and is also very good because it has 2GB of RAM, 16 internal storage expandable via sd card, infrared, 13 and 5 megapixel cameras. And the best thing is that it only cost me € 120. With this I want to say that I totally agree with the article and I also recommend the Xiaomi mobile brand, which is a number one Chinese brand in its country and is fifth worldwide. It sells very good and very cheap mobiles. I recommend it to you.
