The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could have a fingerprint reader under the screen

Samsung patent under-screen fingerprint reader

The iPhone X was expected to carry the fingerprint reader under the screen; instead it has been decided to bet on a new technology baptized as "Face ID". The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 also did not bet on this possibility and placed - as in the Samsung Galaxy S8 - the reader next to the camera. It is quite possible that the Korean is no longer the first to launch a team with this feature; the Live Xplay7 will be the first of them. Nevertheless, the consumer electronics giant has patented new idea. And it refers to a fingerprint reader under the screen.

It seems that the dates are already somewhat fair for this solution to reach the first of Samsung's flagships, the Galaxy S9. Instead, you could bet on locating it on the front again, although with one drawback: an island could be created at the bottom of the equipment, much like the latest Apple mobile.

Samsung patent fingerprint reader under the screen

According to the latest Samsung patent, the new fingerprint reader under the screen would have pressure sensor. That is, there would be parts of the screen that would recognize that the user presses harder than normal on the panel to carry out some action.

On the other hand, as we have already said, the dates are very close to implement this type of technology at the beginning of 2018. But if we put our sights on the autumn launches, we find the possible Samsung Galaxy Note 9, a high-end model that could include this new Samsung design. Now, it is quite possible that Samsung's roadmap is the same as Apple's: betting on more precise and faster facial recognition technologies. What's more, as pointed out by the Dutch portal Galaxy Club, The Samsung Galaxy S9 would integrate a 3D sensor on its front to improve the precision of its Iris recognition.
