SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0, attractive and manageable design

SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 (2)

We will start by talking about the design of the SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0. With measures of 56,8 mm x 21,3 mm x 10,8 mm we find a comfortable and handy device. Despite being made of plastic, the touch is pleasant in the hand.

One option that I really liked is the possibility to hide the USB connector to save space. A detail that I appreciate. Also in the back there is a hole in case we want to hang the USB, ideal not to lose it at work. In addition, on the top of the SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 the design team has placed a small blue LED that indicates that the device is working.

Ultimately, a USB with good finishes, a pleasant design with more rounded lines than the models we are used to. Nothing to object in this regard

The first time we want to use SanDisk's powerful encryption software, we will have to update it first. As simple as clicking the application icon and following the steps to go to the SanDisk SecureAccess version V3.0. Now with the updated application, we will only have to click on it and accept the conditions of use. Once we have followed these steps, a window will appear like the one I show you on these lines.

We will only have to fill in the spaces with the password that we are going to use to encrypt our folder and click OK. If you look at the bottom left, you will see that You can choose different options for the password, making it much more secure. If you check these options and do not use the required parameters to create your password (use of capital letters and special characters) you will not be able to create your encrypted folder.

The next window already shows your folder encryptto. You will only have to drag the files that you want to have encrypted and ready. After closing and opening the program, SanDisk SecureAccess will ask us for the password to access the files.

Is SanDisk Software Really Safe? If we take into account that SanDisk SecureAccess uses 128-bit AES encryption, I already tell you that data security is more than complete. In addition, data transmission in the encrypted folder is still just as fast.

SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 transmits data at unmatched speed

SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 (1)

Ok, we have seen that the SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 has an attractive design, integrates very interesting software, but what about data transmission? Simply a delight. When testing it on a conventional USB the difference is almost nil, but when we connect the SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 to a USB 3.0 port, the change is more than remarkable.

We have done two tests, the first passing a series of videos with a total weight of 16 GB. The average transfer speed has been 130 MB / s, passing all the data in just over two minutes. When using smaller files the transfer speed is limited, although never goes below 100 MB / s, offering simply excellent performance. Goodbye to waiting almost 20 minutes to transfer 20 GB to your USB!
