The time for the democratization of fast storage is here, the price of SSD drives has dropped considerably and the market is populating with different options that stand up to traditional HDDs, offering sufficient storage and a data transfer speed that is highly attractive to the vast majority of users.
We review the Seagate One Touch 2TB (STKB2000400), a portable hard drive that offers blazing speeds and portability at a very competitive price. Find out with us and only then will you know if it is really worth getting one of these external storage options.
Materials and design
Far from what you can imagine in the photograph, this Seagate device has plastic, a lot of plastic, yes, you will be able to choose three color variants, which makes it a relatively versatile and fun product. You have available the versions in red, light blue and black, the latter being the one chosen for our analysis due to its presumably greater durability and resistance to certain external agents.
It has some ddimensions of 11,5 x 7,8 x 1,2 centimeters, for a total weight of 148 grams, which quickly makes it a light and portable device, much more than one could imagine. The bottom is matte and rough, while the outer layer has a metallic coating that helps heat dissipation.
For its part, we have a status indicator LED on this external coating, and a proprietary port for data transfer at the other end.
Technical characteristics
This 2TB device SSD storage can also be purchased in 1TB, 4TB and 5TB versions, so we have alternatives for all needs. Its USB 3.2 Gen 1 port allows a maximum transfer speed of 120 MB/s and is compatible with both Windows and macOS.
If we talk about writing and reading, our analyzes show results of about 138 MB for reading and about 135 MB for reading, so we could say that we have even exceeded the statistics provided by Seagate itself for this device.
In this sense, we can fromate it both in NTFS as in exFAT, so we will not have content limitations. We have the advantage, being an SSD hard drive, that we are not going to require any type of external power supply, the power obtained through the USB port will be more than enough to guarantee its operation in all senses.

Like many other Seagate products, this 2TB One Touch comes with Mylo Create, a four-month subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan and two years of the Rescue Data Recovery Service Plan.
User experience
The SSD drive does not present typical usage problems, although we note that it tends to get hot, and that it produces a slight connection noise and disconnection, which doesn't seem to affect the overall performance of the drive at all.
On the other hand, it is fully cCompatible when playing content through different Smart TVs such as Samsung Tizen, where I have managed to play 4K BluRay movies (about 80GB) without any problem and offering Ultra HD (4K) quality performance with high dynamic range.
The same happens with video consoles, and this Seagate One Touch is fully compatible with PlayStation 4 (PS4). It is also compatible with PS5 and it does not pose any type of problem in this regard, so I cannot stop recommending it in this regard.
Our overall experience with this 2TB Seagate One Touch drive has been fully satisfactory, although I would have preferred a good USB-C port. The price is quite attractive. around €80 on Amazon,
making it a highly recommended product in its value for money, although the software included in the product does not imply any type of added value that we can highlight.
