Samsung vice president sentenced to 5 years in prison

These last few years have been stirred in the world of politics in South Korea. The president of the government was forced to resign due to reports that she claimed that she was receiving bribes from different companies in the country. Samsung is the most important company in South Korea, and as we all know, it is involved in practically all fields, from household appliances to smartphones, a company that started with a few fishing boats but knew how to adapt and reconvert itself in the early 80s when technology began to be a first-rate product order.

After several months in which the vice president of Samsung, Jay Y. Lee has been tried and found guilty of bribery and embezzlement, today the sentence has been released: 5 years sentence, a sentence that has been quite benevolent considering that he was initially facing 12 years. Jay Y. Lee had become the de facto president of Samsung due to the disrepair of his father, who continues to head the Korean company. Continuing with the family tradition, who will be in charge of managing the reins of the most important Korean company in the country will be the daughter of the president, sister of the accused, Lee Boo-jin.

Lee Boo-Jin has been with the company for several years and has built a very good reputation, both within and without. It would also be the end of the family tradition, in which the highest position in the company has always been occupied by a man, but of course, this decision has to be made by the shareholders of the company. Jay Y. Lee's attorney says he will appeal the sentence, so It is likely that being the company that it is, everything will end in a large fine or a reduction of the sentence that does not force him to have to find his bones in prison, which would prevent him from continuing to lead the company.
