Some American universities force to deactivate the Touch Bar of the new MacBook Pro in the exams

MacBook Pro Touch Bar

The launch of the new MacBook Pro 2016 with Touch Bar is giving a lot to talk about since it was put on sale, not only because of the performance and limitation problems when it comes to expanding them, but now a new controversy is added, which This time it is not related to Apple, at least directly. Many are the universities that, in view of the exams that begin in February, have sent a circular to all students informing them that if they are going to use the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, this touch panel must be disabled or otherwise they will not be able to access the room where the exams are performed.

The Touch Bar offers us different options depending on the context in which we find ourselves, be it in Photoshop, in Final Cut, in Word ... this panel could be used so that according to the questions of the exam, which is done through an application of the ExamSoft company, suggest the correct answers by creating a small app. It is not the first time that we have seen with the Touch Bar it is used to enjoy Doom, Lemmings, Pacman… so we know very well what it is capable of.

In the same circular, the universities offer a short tutorial where they show how you can deactivate the Touch Bar to access the exams. But in addition, a technician from the company will review all MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to make sure that this OLED touch panel is disabled.

The official explanation of the universities to prohibit the use of this particular model in exams, is that shows incompatibilities with software to carry out the exams, something that would be solved quickly by updating the application, but knowing how public organizations spend them, an update of this software can take many years to arrive, if they finally do.
