Sony joins the smartphone trend without on-screen frames

In the past MWC, Sony presented a terminal with very good features inside, but the outside was still that of a normal and current smartphone like the iPhone, with quite accentuated screen edges. As we all know, at least if you follow the technology, manufacturers are betting on launching terminals with frames reduced to the maximum as the Xiaomi Mi Mix, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and its predecessor the S7... Apple seems to finally join the trend with the launch of the iPhone 8, just like Sony, as we have been able to read on PhoneArena.

As I have mentioned, Sony's flagship search is currently the XZ Premium, a device with edges that do not physically attract the attention of the terminal, but it seems that the next generation of this model will offer us a large screen taking advantage of a large part of the frame, so that the size of the device will not necessarily be increased.

This new phone could see the light at IFA 2017, the technology fair that is held every year in Berlin in September. Sony has reached an agreement with Japan Display who would be in charge of manufacturing these screens that would have a ratio of 18: 9, like the LG G6 and very similar to the Galaxy S8.

At the moment the Japanese firm has not officially confirmed that it will present a new terminal at this fair, but taking into account that the XZ Premium was launched a little less than a month ago, it is likely that it will be announced but that its official availability will not be for a few months, perhaps for Christmas, a time when technology companies they get a significant part of their profits.

Increase the screen size forces manufacturers to modify the situation of the fingerprint sensor, as we have seen in Samsung and Apple. The possibility of integrating it under the screen is still very green due to the problems of operation, security and slowness that it currently offers, according to the different rumors that have been published about the Samsung Note 8 and the iPhone 8.
