Sony

The mobile telephony market continues to shake strongly and the IFA held in Berlin has left us several smartphones that are destined to be great market references in the coming months. Undoubtedly one of the most outstanding terminals that we have seen in the German event has been the Sony Xperia Z5, a true flagship that puts an end to many attempts by Sony to launch a true successor to the Xperia Z3.

The terminals officially presented at the IFA should be joined by all those we could see in the days leading up to the German event. Among them stands out the new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +, which today we have decided to put face to face with the Sony Xperia Z5, in a duel of giants, and to try to draw interesting conclusions and above all to know what is possibly the best smartphone on the market.

Integrated

Samsung

No one I think I can doubt after seeing the videos and images in this article that we are facing two terminals with a very successful design, using premium materials and with an outstanding appearance. However, in this aspect I think that the Galaxy S6 edge + is somewhat above the Xperia Z5 which has a continuous design compared to other previous versions of this terminal.

And it is that the curved screen of the S6 edge +, its glass back and its metal frames make it in our modest opinion the smartphone with the best design on the market. Of course, that everyone is clear that if the mobile device of the South Korean company is a 9 in terms of design, the new Xperia Z5 is an 8 so we are also facing a device with a great design, although without reaching the levels of the Samsung terminal.

Digging inside

Inside both smartphones we find Very similar specifications and that will undoubtedly offer us very high performance and power. In the case of Sony's terminal we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, while in Samsung's there is a self-made processor, baptized as Exynos 7 and that has undoubtedly given the size while being at the height of any other processor From the market.

As for RAM, in the new Z5 we will see 3GB and in the S6 edge + 4GB. However, the difference is minimal, although once again if we had to lean towards either of the two terminals in terms of power and better performance, we would be left with the Samsung mobile device.

Both terminals offer us an internal storage space of 32GB although in the case of the Xperia Z5 we have the possibility of expanding them using microSD cards, something that does not happen in the Samsung terminal which is unibody, so we can neither remove the battery nor incorporate microSD cards.

The cameras

Sony

The cameras of both terminals are undoubtedly the best on the market, although this time I think we should lean towards winning the Xperia Z5, due to Sony's long tradition in terms of cameras and because if the terminals of the Xperia family have stood out, it has been in the cameras.

Of course, no one thinks that the Galaxy S6 edge + does not have a high-altitude camera, because it is not like that. If in the design we said that the S6 got a higher note, in that case it is the Sony terminal that gets a higher note.

The Xperioa Z5 stands out for having a 23 megapixel ExmorRS sensor, 5X zoom and also some interesting advances in focus that will allow us to achieve photographs of enormous quality, definition and sharpness. As for the Galaxy S6 edge + we find a 16 megapixel sensor and optical image stabilizer that also results in high quality images.

Result of the duel

The truth is that it is very difficult to win one or the other terminal in this duel and it is that both stand out in some sections over the other and generally offer a great experience and performance in almost all the sections that we can analyze. However I think that in a personal opinion I have to give as the winner of this peculiar duel the Galaxy S6 edge + Samsung, for the improvements it has made and for what it has taken risks with design.

The Sony Xperia Z5 is a Smartphone of undoubted quality, but which maintains a continuity line without risking practically anything. Perhaps this Z5 only needed to become the true king of the mobile phone market a facelift that included some novelty in terms of design, which by the way almost all users expected and which has not finally arrived.

How we told you this is just our opinion so now we would like to know yours and know who the winner of this duel between the Sony Xperia Z5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + is for you. You can send it to us as usual through the space reserved for comments on this post or through one of the social networks where we are present.

What a wrong note, we are talking about smartphones of different categories had to compare the S6 edge + with the Z5 premium that play in the same category or the normal S6 against the normal Z5 ..

»But that maintains a continuity line without risking practically anything»

So the 4K screen is not something risky? The fingerprint reader did not even look at it?
The resistance IP68, they did not even know that Sony has it ..

    What a frightening note ...

Mr. Andres, when the writer says that Sony maintains a continuity line it is clearly evident that he refers to the design of the phone and not its characteristics. On the other hand, I share a lot the comment of Mr. Bruno
