Tesvor S4, a complete robot vacuum cleaner for the mid-range [Review]

Robot vacuum cleaners continue to be an efficient and increasingly productive alternative to help us save time when we perform daily cleaning. Thanks to its new mapping and space analysis mechanisms we can take advantage of its characteristics much better than before, and that is why they are living a second youth.

We analyze the new Tesvor S4, a fully functional robot to address the mid-range with a good range of functionalities that will help us clean more and better. Stay with us and discover how this Tesvor S4 can be a great alternative to the most popular models on the market.

As on other occasions, we have decided to accompany this in-depth analysis with a video in which you will not only see the complete unboxing of the Tesvor S4, We also show you its configuration and main cleaning modes. If, on the other hand, you have already decided to acquire it, you can make with it at the best price and with delivery in 24 hours accompanied by a two-year warranty directly on Amazon. Now it's time to analyze it in depth, so stay tuned.

Design and construction materials

What has "shocked" me the most about this Tesvor S4 is how the brand has managed to compact the packaging to the maximum, this is appreciated, used to seeing huge packages, despite the fact that the robot itself is not smaller than those of the competition (far from it) the package is very well worked. The next most striking thing is that the upper part is made of tempered glass, this helps make it look more premium and above all facilitates its cleaning, preventing scratches and any type of attraction to dust or fingerprints. For the rest, we have the most common dimensions and shapes.

We have a device measuring 44,8 × 34,8 × 14,8 centimeters for a total weight that is dangerously close to 5 kilograms, However, taking into account that we will not have to push it because it moves by itself, there is no objection. We have in the upper central part the LiDAR sensor and two synchronization and shutdown buttons. It has on one side a connection port for the current in case we want to do without the base, as well as a disconnect button.

Technical characteristics

This Tesvor S4 has two side brushes, which helps to capture and move dirt to the desired point which is its central brush, in this case with a hybrid system of nylon bristles and of course silicone bristles to capture the dirt that is most attached to the floor. This has undoubtedly seemed one of its most favorable points.

On the other hand, this model creates a map of the areas to be cleaned that is quite similar to alternatives such as Roborock, with similar certainty. In this way, it will take care of spaces greater than 100 m2 in a single pass without having to go to the charging point. For obvious reasons, the first cleaning will be somewhat slower, but from now on, using your Artificial Intelligence and successive passes through the same map, you will optimize resources to offer faster cleaning.

We have 2.200 Pa of suction at this point, that without being an excessively striking data, it is enough for a daily cleaning of a habitual floor, within the «average», somewhat below the alternatives of Dreame and Roborock that have powers that are almost double this. For its part, the maximum noise level of the robot is 50 db, something closely related to the fact that the suction power is not the highest on the market either. However, as we have said, we have not found any problem at the level of cleanliness.

Cleaning and own application

The Tesvor application is available on both Android and iOS and allows us to easily synchronize the device, for this we just have to follow the next stepss:

  1. Press the «ON» button on the side of the robot
  2. When the lights come on press both buttons at the same time for 5 seconds
  3. When the Wi-Fi icon turns on and flashes, go to the Tesvor app and tap on add device
  4. Now it will ask you to connect to the "Smart Life XXXX" network, which is the one that corresponds to the robot vacuum cleaner
  5. The rest of the steps will be carried out automatically or by following the instructions on the screen.

In just five minutes you will have it connected. Although the application is not one of the most complete on the market, it is sufficient, including the following highlighted options:

  • Device operation with virtual remote control
  • Select cleaning power
  • Turn on the device
  • Send the device to the charging station
  • Room cleaning
  • Cleaning by zones
  • Full wipe
  • Cleaning schedule

We have many other options, How to update the firmware of the device, but we leave this up to you so as not to extend too much in this section.

Autonomy and user experience

This device has an autonomy of around 120 minutes depending on the brand, but this obviously corresponds to low suction powers. In this case, at "normal" power, we have obtained approximate times of 90 minutes, being more than enough and enough to carry out a normal cleaning. The application, of course, could be somewhat more complete, it is too similar to that of highlighted alternatives such as SPC and does not focus so much on the connected device, for example, it referred to the water tank and other features that this Tesvor S4 does not include. Although the software is flowing and efficient, it lacks a bit of pampering to be more dedicated.

For its part, we find a robot vacuum cleaner that is around 275 euros and offers some of the essential characteristics for these robots to be a help and not a burden. To begin with, a prominent deposit, a good autonomy and to finish a very efficient LiDAR mapping system that makes cleaning ideal. Although the price could be somewhat tighter, being interesting in specific offers below 250, however, it remains at Amazon at prices that are around 275 euros on a regular basis, which is not bad at all considering the performance.
