The BlackBerry Mercury can be seen in pictures

BlackBerry has ceased to have a significant weight in the mobile phone market, as it did not too long ago. However, Canadians continue to try to achieve some prominence with the launch of new devices, without achieving a groundbreaking success as if they have achieved other companies.

The BlackBerrry Passport was one of the first attempts, later followed by the BlackBerry Priv, in which for the first time we saw the Android operating system. More recently we have seen the BlackBerry DTEK 60 and DTEK 50, which could now give way to the BlackBerry Mercury, the latest device from the company led by Jhon Chen and that in recent hours has been seen in several filtered images.

The bet continues to be on the physical keyboard that many users fell in love with so much years ago, when touchscreens still did not make an appearance. Today, they have practically no niche in the market, but on BlackBerry they think so.

BlackBerry Mercury with keyboard to say goodbye to the telephony market

BlackBerry Mercury

This new mobile device, which will be the last of BlackBerry, will be a mid-range terminal, although with aspirations to sneak into the high-end. It will have a 4.5-inch screen with a 3: 2 screen ratio, which will not be panoramic as it happens in other smartphones on the market.

Inside we find a Qualcomm processor, of which we still do not know its model, although its clock speed we do know that it will be 2GHz. The RAM memory will be 3GB and will have a storage of 32 GB that at the moment has not been confirmed if it can be expanded using microSD cards.

Regarding the terminal cameras, on the front we will see a camera with an 8 megapixel sensor and on the back the 18 megapixel sensor. Hopefully in this aspect BlackBerry is able to improve, since in previous devices this was undoubtedly one of its weaknesses.

Without a doubt, one of its great attractions will be its physical keyboard, which many still prefer compared to the touch keyboards that we can use in most of the terminals that are sold today in the market.

Can this new BlackBerry terminal find a niche in the market?

Sinceramente I am very afraid that this BlackBerry Mercury will go as unnoticed by the market as many others have in recent times. The Canadian firm did not know how to adapt to the new times when the market began to change strongly, and now it is not knowing how to develop devices that can truly interest the general public of the mobile phone market, which is the one that ultimately places you in heaven or hell.

This will be the last BlackBerry from the Canadian company, which they will also manufacture themselves and as we have said it will be one of the many, perhaps too many, that are available on the market right now.

I have said it hundreds of times, but I wish BlackBerry would do, or rather would have made a powerful smartphone of the so-called high-end, and would have incorporated the great features that one day made it lead the market with enormous authority.

Availability and price

At the moment all we know about the BlackBerry Mercury is thanks to the rumors and leaks that have been taking place, in addition to the little information that Jhon Chen, the CEO of BlackBerry, has revealed. We imagine that this new mobile device will be officially presented very soon, although at the moment there is no date set on the Canadian company's roadmap.

Regarding its price, we can expect anything and it is that the latest BlackBerry smartphones, despite not being high-end devices, had a price that was similar to the smartphones that make up that range of the market.

Do you think the BlackBerry Mercury will be able to find its niche in the market and end up being a success?. Tell us your opinion in the space reserved for comments on this post or through any of the social networks in which we are present.

If it is marketed in Latin America and it has a good price I am sure that it is, physical keyboards are ideal for those who use the telephone as a work tool

of course it will be successful, despite the invasion of the touch keyboard, many of us are reluctant to leave the physical keyboard. Luckily there is still a company that takes us into account
