The BlackBerry Mercury could install the same camera sensor as the Google Pixel

One of the surprises with which Google wanted to draw the attention of all attendees to the presentation of the new terminals manufactured and designed by Google, the Pixel and Pixel XL, was the score that DxOMark had placed on these terminals. According to DxOMark the camera of the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL was the best on the market, along with that of the HTC 10, surpassing even the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 7 Plus with its double camera. But in this photography not everything is the sensor, since both the processor, the software and the graphics influence the result of the captures that we can make with the smartphone.

Inside this new BlackBerry Mercury, we find a Snapdragon 625 processor, a processor that will not allow us to obtain the same results as the Google Pixel, terminals that are equipped with the Snapdragon 821. We also find inside 3 GB of RAM, for the 4 GB of the Google Pixel and Android Nougat.

The different specifications of both terminals, despite mounting the same camera, will offer us different results, as is the case with the Xiaomi Mi5s that is also managed by the Snapdragon 821, a terminal that also integrates the same sensor as the Pixel but whose results are very different. The sensor used is the Sony IMX378 that offers a resolution of 12 mpx and that allows recording videos in 4k quality. This camera has been considered the best in the world of telephony throughout the past year.

BlackBerry's new bet for a device with a physical keyboard is called BlackBerry Mercury, a terminal that could be seen sporadically at CES held in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year. This terminal will be the delight of all those users who have always had BlackBerry and their beloved physical keyboards.
