The latest Galaxy models already allow us to unlock access to Windows 10

For a few years, many would say, many have been laptops that have chosen to use a fingerprint sensor to protect access to the operating system, which is mostly Windows in its different versions. This sensor, in most cases, was not well designed and began to fill with dirt, forcing users to have to clean it regularly to function properly. But it seems that this is over. Already no need to buy a laptop with a fingerprint sensor thanks in part to Windows Hello technology and Samsung phones.

Again we see how the collaboration between the Korean firm and Samsung is paying off. A few months ago Samsung launched its first tablets managed by Windows 10, some tablets similar to the Surface. Microsoft has just announced in collaboration with Samsung the launch of Samsung Flow, an application that allows us to unlock access to computers managed with Windows through the fingerprint sensor of Samsung terminals.

For this method to work to access Windows 10, it is necessary that our PC is running the latest version of Windows 10, called Creators Update. This method to unlock the terminal with Windows, which is included within the Windows Hello system that allows us to unlock the terminal with our face allows us to identify ourselves, at least initially, with the following Samsung terminals:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge +
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5
  • Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 and A7 2016 and later.
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

It is to be assumed that over time the number of devices from other brands will increase this list, although it would not be surprising that this function was limited exclusively to the terminals of the Korean firm.
