Tomorrow is one of the most anticipated Apple keynotes, not only by the company's followers, but also by its greatest rivals, as we will finally see the iPhone X, the iPhone with which Apple celebrates 10 years of the launch of the first model. But we will also see the Apple Watch with an LTE connection, although it does not allow making calls at first. But we will also see a renewal of the AirPods, a renewal where the position of the led indicating the charge level is modified and Apple TV, the company's set-top box, with which it will reach the 5th generation.
The main novelty that we know at the moment and that is practically confirmed of the 5th generation Apple TV shows us how this device will be compatible with content in 4k HDR, a limitation that we find in the previous generation model, a model that was already a point part of what until now we understood as Apple TV, since the guys from Cupertino released an operating system, tvOS, an operating system derived from iOS and where we can install practically any game available for both the iPhone and the iPad.
But in order to manage this content, the Apple TV processor also has to be updated. The 4th generation model, which is currently on the market, it is managed by the A8 and 2 GB of RAM. New rumors suggest that the 5th generation Apple TV will be managed by the A10X, the same processor that we can currently find in Apple's iPad Pro, in addition to 3 GB of RAM.
The memory increase is motivated by the bandwidth and the necessary cache to be able to reproduce via streaming content in 4k. The processor update reflects how Apple wants the Apple TV to become, also, a video game platform, video games that will allow offer 3D graphics, as is the case with the Nintendo Switch, because logically it cannot come close, not even close, to the performance and quality that both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One offer us.
