The purchase of HTC's mobile division by Google is confirmed

For a few weeks we have talked about the growing possibility that Google would take over the mobile division of HTC, a company that has not been going through good times in recent years. Finally the purchase has been confirmed after paying just over 1.100 million, an amount much lower than the one he paid when he acquired Motorola a few years ago, for which he disbursed just over 20.000 million dollars to get rid of it a few years later, keeping the patents. The guys from Mountain View have only taken over the mobile division of the Taiwan-based company, leaving the virtual reality division in the hands of HTC, the only division that is doing well.

As is usual in this type of purchase, the templates of both companies will have to be adjusted, especially that of Taiwan, since the design in addition to research and development of future projects will be carried out directly in California, leaving only part of the production in the country. A day before the announcement of the purchase, HTC stopped trading on the Taiwan stock exchange, a move that had no other explanation than the possible confirmation of the sale of the company, as confirmed a few hours later.

Since the launch of the Google Pixel last year, the guys at Google had every intention of starting to manufacture their devices directly, and for this they could not build all the necessary infrastructure starting from scratch, since the process would take a few years. All rumors suggest that the second generation of the Google Pixel will also be manufactured by the Taiwanese company, so we hope that it will take advantage of the company's distribution system to be able to expand the number of countries where to offer the new Pixel and Pixe since its launch.
