Facebook's Virtual Reality glasses, Oculus Rift, available for 449 euros

The launch of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive was the starting signal for virtual reality if we talk about complete devices, not glasses to which we have to couple a smartphone. Both models reached the market practically on par, however, quickly the HTC model became the favorite of users and not precisely because of the price, since they were 200 euros more expensive than the Facebook model. At the end of last year, Oculus sales fell short of 100.000 units, while HTC Vives doubled that amount placing well below the 200.000 units sold.

But in addition, other reasons to buy the HTC model was not the quality of the quantity but also offered the possibility of accessing the Oculus store and thus enjoying a wide catalog, something that we could not do with the glasses of Facebook, unable to enjoy the Oculus catalog. Leaving aside the hardware requirements of these devices, it seems that Facebook is seeing how sales continue to be below, again, than estimated and have announced a reduction in the price of the Oculus, being available for a limited time for 449 euros.

At this price, we can get hold of the Oculus Rift and the Touch controls with which we interact with our environment. The offer appears to be available during the months of July and August only. We do not know if for September the company plans to launch a second generation and wants to get rid of the stock, or although the only reason is to encourage sales of this virtual reality device that has become the model that has sold the fewest units since its launch. If you want to take advantage of this offer you just have to stop by the following link.
