Developer work, from the outside can look very nice, but behind each application or game there are many hours not only of work, but also planning, design, functionality ... The greatest reward for developers is that their applications or games triumph in the different application stores currently available on the market, such as Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store.
However, on many occasions despite being fantastic projects, they welcome us from the public. Fortunately, thanks to TheAwards, the developer community has at its disposal a contest that really appreciate the effort it takes to build an app from scratch. At the beginning of October, we informed you of the contest organized by this platform, a contest that on November 15 announced the winners of the first edition.
In the first edition of the awards for the best Spanish applications of 2018 TheAwards (organized by the mobile application marketing agency PickASO and the App Store Optimization tool, TheTool), 11 awards of different amounts were awarded, being the best application of 2018, the largest. The first prize was valued at 66.500 euros, while the remaining 10 have a valuation of 16.000 euros.
In total, prizes worth more than 220.000 euros have been distributed thanks to the collaboration of Huawei, Snapchat, Amazon Web Services among others. The jury that had the difficult task of selecting which were the best apps this year was made up of Vanessa Estorach from Women in mobile, Evgeny predein from apiumhub, Elia Méndez from MMA UK, Thomas Petti of 8fit and Ricard Castellet of Barcelona Tech City.
Best application in Spain 2018: Agora
The award for the best application in Spain in 2018 went to Agora, an application that offers photographers a platform on which they can share their best shots and, incidentally, get an economic return on their work.
The jury took into account a series of factors to individually score each of the applications that reached the final phase and among which were aspects related to the design, usability, originality, product and marketing.
The first edition of the awards ceremony for the best Spanish applications of 2018, also awarded 10 other applications, each corresponding to a different category that we detail below:
- Best Shopping app: Citibox: Citibox was born to solve the problem of many users when it comes to receiving the purchases made online when they are absent.
- Best Creativity and Productivity app: iLovePDF. Fantastic tool that puts at our disposal a series of tools to be able to work with files in PDF format comfortably from our smartphone.
- Best Economics, Finance and Business App: Evo Bank. Evo Banco is the application that this entity makes available to its clients to access your accounts.
- Best Education & Magazine App: ABA English. ABA English quickly and easily transfers the content of online academies to mobile devices.
- Best Entertainment and Events app: Wegow With this application, artists, promoters and brands are always informed of the concerts and festivals that are carried out throughout the peninsula.
- Best Lifestyle app: Just Eat. Application with which we can buy home delivery in all the establishments attached to this platform.
- Best Game app: Parcheesi. The classic board game is available on mobile devices thanks to this game.
- Best Mobility and Travel App: eCooltra. eCooltra puts at our disposal more than 3.500 electric motorcycles to be able to move around the city quickly and without polluting.
- Best Social Media & Dating App: Peoople. With Peoople we can quickly discover the best recommendations both from our friends and from our favorite influencers.
- Best Health and Wellness App: Top Doctor. With Top Doctor we will quickly find which is the best specialist for each case.
