Vivo Xplay7, the first mobile with a fingerprint reader under the screen

The Chinese company Vivo has it clear: wants to be the first smartphone brand to place the fingerprint reader in a different place. Neither Samsung nor Apple have been able to come up with this solution yet. And while Samsung patents a new solution for its next Samsung Galaxy S9, Apple bets on the Face ID unlocking system.

However, Vivo bets on one of the solutions that sounded louder for the top of the range of the main brands: placing the fingerprint reader under the screen. Already in June the Asian company launched on its YouTube channel (you will see the video after the jump) a video in which showed the operation of one of its computers with this reader located behind the screen. The future smartphone that will implement this technology is the Vivo Xplay7.

This mobile has appeared in the Weiboo social network in real pictures. Apparently the Vivo Xplay7 will be a frameless mobile with a very slim chassis and in which, effectively, the fingerprint reader will be embedded in the screen. Likewise, the photography part will feature a Sony double sensor with 4x optical zoom, while the heart of all this equipment will be moved by a new Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 845. To give you an idea: it is the same processor that is speculated to be integrated into the next Galaxy S9.

At the moment we do not know for sure when this new Asian mobile will be available, but Yes, the Vivo Xplay7 is expected to appear on the market next year 2018. If Samsung does not change its mind and the next iPhone 9 - or iPhone 8S - does not bet on this technology, Vivo will rise as the first to launch a terminal with this type of reader.
