True to its annual appointment in February, the Korean company Samsung has officially presented its new commitment to the high-end of the Galaxy S20 range, a range that comes from the hand of three terminals: Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Pro and Galaxy S20 Ultra. In the same event, it has also been presented the second bet on the foldable smartphone market with the Galaxy ZFlip.
With the arrival of the S20, and unlike in previous years, the Korean company has reduced the price of the previous generation, a generation that will remain in the market at least during the first months, following the same strategy as Apple in recent years. Integrated
The current design of high-end smartphones has very little room for improvement, margin that happens to include the cameras under the screen as a design change that can be considered novel and out of the usual trend in the world of telephony. This new generation maintains the same exterior design with the only difference in the location of the front camera, which is now in the upper central part.
Screen
The screen of the new Galaxy S20 range is of the type Infinity-O type Dynamic AMOLED with a resolution of 3.200 x 1.440 p. Another novelty that this model offers us is the screen, a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and that is also compatible with HDR10 +. These features are available in the three models that are part of this range: Galaxy S20 (6,2 inches), Galaxy S20 Pro (6,7 inches) and Galaxy S20 Ultra (6,9 inches).
Processor, memory and storage
As in previous years, the Korean company Samsung has decided to launch two different versions depending on the destination of the terminal. For the US and Chinese market, the Galaxy S20 is managed by the Snapdragon 865, an 8-core processor (2 at 2,84 GHz, 2 at 2,42 GHz and four at 1,8 GHz). The European version is managed by the Samsung processor Exynos 990, an 8-core processor (two at 2,73 GHz, two at 2,6 GHz and four Cortex at 2 GHz).
The RAM memory that we will find in the new S20 range varies depending on the model. While both the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20 Pro are managed by the 8 GB of RAM the 4G version, the 5G version is accompanied by 12 GB. The highest-end model, the Galaxy S20 Ultra, reaches 16 GB of memory in the only version in which it is available, 5G.
In terms of storage, the Galaxy S20 is only available with 128 GB storage. The Galaxy S20 Pro in addition to having a 128 GB version, is also available in 512 GB, just like the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The type of storage is UFS 3.0 and in all models we can use a microSD card to expand the storage space.
Samsung has provided special attention to the battery of this new range, a battery that reaches 4.000 mAh in the Galaxy S20, 4.500 mAh in the Galaxy S20 Pro and 5.000 mAh in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. All terminals are compatible with the fast wireless charging, in addition to offering support for reverse charging, a charging system that allows us to charge the Galaxy Buds or the Galaxy Watch Active from the back of the terminal.
Cameras
The Galaxy S20 Ultra is presented as Samsung's most important bet in the world of photography. This terminal has a 108 mpx main sensor, a main sensor accompanied by a telephoto lens with a resolution of 48 mpx, a telephoto lens that offers us a 1o magnification optical zoom. Combining optical zoom with Artificial Intelligence, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is able to offer a zoom up to 100x.
