WhatsApp extends the time to delete sent messages

WhatsApp will integrate payments

WhatsApp has been characterized in recent years, by making a large number of attempts to try to invade, even more if possible, our privacy trying to cross our data with Facebook threatening to not allow us to use the messaging application if we did not authorize it. Fortunately, the European authorities have prevented him.

It has also been characterized by the implementation of new functions, highly demanded by users, an implementation that on most occasions it has arrived badly and late, such as the use of GIFs or the ability to delete text messages that we have previously sent. The possibility of deleting messages was limited in time to 7 minutes, a ridiculous time and without any justification.

As usual, WhatsApp has changed its mind again, and has modified the time elapsed since we have sent the message we want to delete, until we can do it on both devices. After the last update, the messaging application of the social network Facebook, extends that time to 68 minutes and 16 seconds. In this way, WhatsApp gives us a greater margin of maneuver when it comes to deleting sent messages, but it still does not come close to the time that Telegram offers us.

How to delete messages sent on WhatsApp

  • Deleting messages on WhatsApp is very simple, since we just have to click on the message we want to delete for a second.
  • In the contextual menu that appears, we look for the option Delete.
  • From the bottom, a new menu will appear where It will tell us if we want to delete the message only for us (an option that I've never quite made sense of) or for everyone.

Of course, what has not changed is the happy message that the application will show us, a message in which it is reported that we have proceeded to delete a message that we have previously sent.
