WhatsApp will limit the number of times messages can be forwarded

time to erase WhatsApp

Surely we have all received the odd message forwarded through WhatsApp about news, misleading offer, or scam. Sooner or later spam had to reach the world's leading messaging platform, so we shouldn't be surprised to have reached this point.

But sometimes, things get out of hand, as has happened in India, one of the countries where WhatsApp seems to have become part of the country's religion. A few weeks ago, several false rumors about kidnapping minors went viral on the platform. In some of them innocent people were accused, people who were beaten by groups of people to death.

To try to avoid similar cases and incidentally, show a little more concern for the increasing spam that users are suffering, the messaging platform has announced a series of changes to the application, changes that will be available soon, without announcing a specific date.

These changes affect the number of times we can forward messages that we receive through the platform. As of today, we can forward messages to 250 people in our contact list, a number that will be reduced to 20 people.

In India, the reduction is even greater, as messages can only be forwarded to 5 people. Once they have reached that number, the option that allows you to forward that particular message will no longer be available.

Both Facebook and WhatsApp have always been at the center of controversy due to the spreading false notices through its messaging platform. Mark Zuckerberg has always expressed his discomfort about it but until now it seems that he had not the slightest interest in trying to find a solution to it.
