Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, many virtues and few defects [Review]

Materials and design

As often happens in Xiaomi's Redmi range, the terminal is large. We have dimensions of 165,7 x 76,6 x 8,8 mm for a total weight of 209 grams, which is not. not bad if we take into account the 6,67 inches of its front panel and the huge battery that it houses inside. Far from what seemed to happen a few years ago with the Redmi range, this Note 9 Pro gives a feeling of instant quality in the hand. A bit of a frame on the front, a very updated design, a pretty decent build.

The buttons have a good touch and a correct route. We find them all on the right side, both the unified volume, and that "power" button that now includes a fingerprint reader and that to me, personally, it seems a much better alternative to the fingerprint reader on the back that they had been using. Four fairly protruding sensors at the rear, very centered and giving an interesting sense of harmony. Definitely in terms of design, little to argue against the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Technical characteristics

As we have seen, this Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro lacks practically nothing.

Display and multimedia content

We start with the screen, where we find a panel of 6,67 inches with asymmetrical but quite small frames. We have resolution FullHD + equivalent to 2400 x 1080 pixels, which is not bad considering the price range, yes, with an aspect ratio of 20: 9 quite elongated. As for the LCD panel, it has a good integration, once again Xiaomi has worked well when adjusting the colors, Although the brightness is not high until it is noticeable, it is more than enough for outdoors.

On the other hand, we find the now classic shadows on some edges and around the central "freckle" that houses the camera. In terms of sound, we find what to expect from the mid-range, a sound that is sufficient in terms of high volume, but that does not stand out in the rest of the sections, where it is defended, without more. This is one of the sections where it is most often cut in the mid-range, and the Redmi Note 9 Pro was not going to be an exception.

Camera test

We go to the cameras, where we find four sensors that we go on to detail below:

• 1MP Samsung ISOCELL GW64 Sensor
• 8MP Ultra Wide Angle
• 5MP macro
• 2MP depth

Personally, I have two sensors left over, but it is true that they provide interesting versatility. The one that stands out the least is the depth, since it is quite noticeable that the software has a lot to do with photographs in "Portrait" format. On the other hand, the 64MP main sensor, about 64MP that are not activated by default, since the standard shot is faster and lighter. It captures the content very well in almost any light condition, we leave you some tests:

The video camera gives us the ability to record up to 4K at 30 FPS although in the tests we have opted for the FullHD version. We have an interesting color adjustment, we do not denote much loss of content when the light falls, but the stabilization is that of the mid-range. As for the front camera, we have 16MP very well resolved and that give especially good results from the hand of the software.

Autonomy and extra sections

An autonomy that is a real madness in this Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, starting because cIt has 5.020 mAh and a fast charge of 30W whose network adapter is included in the package. We finally bet on USB-C and enjoyed sessions of more than eight hours of screen and easily two days of widespread use without messing up. It is true that we could miss the wireless charging if we are used to it, but in terms of battery little more can be asked of this Redmi Note 9 Pro, a point where it stands out and a lot.
