Etter forlegenhet og dumhet forårsaket av fjorårets VGX, Geoff Keighley Han bestemte seg for å skille sin vei fra Viacom og Spike TV og jobbe med en seremoni som virkelig hadde videospill i kjernen. Slik ble født The Game Awards, et initiativ som journalisten med mer enn 20 års erfaring (og en og annen kontrovers underveis) vil finansiere ut av lommen, og som han håper å få tilbake investeringen takket være de solgte billettene for å delta på arrangementet neste Desember 5 I Las Vegas. I tillegg har den støtte og støtte fra de aller fleste store i bransjen.
Det er derfor, man regner med så mange personligheter og selskaper fra hele verden, og håper å finne et show som til tross for at man ikke har lagt bort TV-kuttet, har videospill som hovedord. La oss huske at VGA-er historisk har vært stedet som ble valgt for å kunngjøre viktige titler som Dark Souls II, Portal 2, Skyrim eller Batman: Arkham City, som ikke er slim av kalkun. Så forvent at en god del av annonsene og så mange videoer og spilldemoer som ennå ikke blir utgitt.
