More interesting design and features of the Sharkoon Rush ER2

One of the most interesting details of these gaming headphones is nothing more than their packaging, something that should already make it clear that, although moderately inexpensive, we are facing helmets where their presentation has been very careful. Once we open the box we find some headphones that offer a good touch, a 2 meter extension cable, very interesting if we need to extend even more the serial cable, which is 1 meters long and an interesting transport bag. As a detail, tell you that the additional cable has been equipped with a fairly basic wheel for volume control as well as a switch to turn the microphone on and off.

Aesthetically, its rather dark design is particularly striking in all versions, except for the white model, broken only by certain colored inserts, in the case of the blue unit tested. An interesting detail is found in that, both in the pads of the speakers themselves and in the one present in the headband, we bet on a material as comfortable and pleasant as the Polipiel. At this point, highlight something that has caught my attention, at least personally, and it is none other than the fact that the headphones are attached to the headband by a kind of extensible guides that require doing certain strength to be able to move them, just enough so that they do not feel loose but it does not require much force to adjust them.

Finally and regarding the most interesting technical characteristics, tell you that according to the technical sheet, this Sharkoon model stands out for its weight of 266 grams. At the same time it has 40 mm drivers whose impedance moves in the 90 decibels with a very interesting response in frequencies ranging from 20 to 20.000 Hz with an impedance of 32 Ohms and a 100mW maximum power. According to the company, the headphones can be used both to listen to audio and to send it through the microphone on different platforms such as a computer, mobile devices, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

At this point I would like to tell you about it and delve a little more into my experience with these helmets. Personally I have to confess that I have found quite comfortable since, once we start to use them, it gives the impression that they are quite fair. One detail that must be taken into account at this point is that, if you use it too long, because its settings are somewhat basic and the padding of your headphones not so generous, they can bother, on the other hand, something quite common in this type of cheap headphones.

As for the discomfort, the truth is that it comes after using them for more than two hours, hence I myself argue that it is something that can happen even with much more expensive helmets. Personally, I understand that this would be a very negative point in the event that this sensation appears after using them for half an hour or an hour, something that is not the case.

On the other hand, in terms of sound quality, I think it is not bad but it is also true that I have noticed that perhaps the bass do not have that force or forcefulness that one can expect while maybe I ended up cutting the treble a bit. This can be remedied, in a sense, by performing an equalization. As for the mid frequencies, the truth is that the sound quality is quite good. For its part, the microphone captures the voice well although perhaps one more adjustment may be needed to be able to bring it closer or separate it from the mouth.

Pros

  • Sound quality for its range
  • Modular cable
  • Variety of colors
  • Price

Cons

  • Few adjustment options
  • The controls are very basic
  • Sound that could be improved
