Many are the evolutions that companies related to the world of telecommunications tend to present, curiously the vast majority, despite being very interesting and innovative, do not usually leave the laboratories. Micron already has 32GB memory chips on the market that make use of 3D NAND technology.
To make this true, the company's engineers are working on developing the technology 3D NAND, which is allowing the first SSD units of more than 10 TB to reach the market. As you can see, regarding what has been commented above, we are talking about a technology that already exists today so it can be implemented. One of its main problems, hence the talk of the year 2020, is its current price since these storage units, today, usually exceed $ 10.000.
Thanks to the implantation of this type of chips in our smartphone, we would not only get more storage capacity, but also it would significantly increase the read and write bandwidth, faster startup and loading times ... For now, the truth is that this capacity is a bit far, even so, tell you that Micron already has on the market today 32GB memory chips that make use of this technology, so we are one step closer to achieving higher capacities.
