The need for a certain number of colors can be great for those who are specifically dedicated to graphic design. In this work area, the tonality of a color can become the great «wanted element» so that an art is perfectly well captured in the eyes of others.
In addition to the creativity of a graphic designer, this resource must also be accompanied by a number of tools that help us easily find some type of color that could be part of a large palette to use in a specific job. That is the objective of this article, as we will try to mention what two online tools do when helping us to create a custom color palette.
Web applications to create a color palette
We have been treating in different articles of Vinagre Asesino a certain amount of web applications, something that becomes one of the most sought-after and used resources today, because to everyone, you are enjoying working "completely in the cloud", as this will avoid having to install an application in our operating system. The two online tools that we will mention below work exclusively in the Internet browser, and can be executed on any work platform to which we are accustomed.
1. Paletton: web application to create our color palette
The first web application that we will deal with for now has the name of Paletton, to which you can go through its official website. Once you are there you will be able to admire a whole range of colors distributed in different areas and regions of the interface. Towards the left side all these colors are presented in a circular area, while on the right side the result of what we do in the previous area.
What we should do first is try to define the number of colors we need to create a custom palette, since what appears on the left side of this interface will depend on it; You can take as an example, the different options that are shown in the upper part of the circular area on the left side, because right there there are five icons that will help you choose a monochromatic color palette, another with three colors, four colors and the last icon, which will help to personalize that number. When you have defined such an aspect, you can start moving each of the points that are located within this circular area.
You will be able to notice that towards the right side, the color palette is automatically structured, having to stop the moment in which we believe that we have found the one that will serve us for our work. You can also go to the different examples or the default templates to choose any of them, something that is instead in the lower right part of this interface. You can save or download the palette created to use it later in your graphic design tool.
2. Coolors: an online tool to create our color palette
The next alternative that we will mention for now has the name «Coolors«, Which also works in the Internet browser. Once you go to its official website you will have to choose the button at the bottom that says «Start Using Coolers»Although, you could also download an application for mobile devices with iOS using the button that is a little further down.
Whichever option you choose in «Coolors», later the screen will change shape and where, you will only be able to see a certain number of colored bands placed in a vertical position. There you would only have to pass the mouse pointer over any of these bands, at which point a few will appear additional options you can use to customize to your color palette. For example, from there you will have the possibility to start modifying a few slider buttons to modify the hue of a specific color. Right there you also have the possibility to choose the format of these colors, which represents one of the RGB, CMYK type, among a few other alternatives.
If you've found the perfect shade you can use the padlock icon at the bottom, which will practically block the color editing. You can do the same with the other colors shown below; when you have finished you just have to use the arrows that are located in the lower right part, which will help you save your selection or download them to your computer.
