2012 It has been a good year as far as video games are concerned. Although, perhaps, it has not been up to the previous year when it comes to games for works such as Skyrim, Portal 2, Gears of War 3, Deus EX: HR or Dark Souls, we have experienced a couple of releases of new consoles. PSVita and Wii U are already on the market and both have
Now this 2013 it is presented to us really loaded with news It is true that there are few confirmed games for the last part of the year, where heavyweights usually crowd, but this is a clear indication that we will see the announcements and, perhaps, sales, of the new consoles by Sony and Microsoft. That does not mean, on the other hand, that the first half of the year is really loaded with big titles. So, here you have what I look forward to the most of this new year.
Uncharted 3 was a disappointment. At least for me. Maybe it was normal after an almost unbeatable second installment, but the reception of the title of N it was kind of cold. And this drop in quality is more than likely due to part of the team dedicating themselves to this new title.
A universe and much more adult approach, survival touches and an amazing graphic section of the house brand will frame the survival story of Joel and ellie, the two protagonists really united.
I want to: A somewhat more open and less corridor approach than that of the Uncharted.
Temo: That the relationship with Ellie and her "surveillance" are too heavy a burden, typical of titles with poor AI's.
As with Uncharted 3, I was disappointed to finish GTA IV. Yes, a great recreation of the city, a very adult story and a great duration. United, yes, of few interesting places to go, fewer alternatives and customization than in San Andreas and too many repetitive missions.
It seems like Rockstar has taken note and your GTA V it will be a "more and better" book. At the moment, three main characters between whom we will alternate and a Los Santos that, they promise, will be larger than those mapped from GTA IV, San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption together.
I want to: That necessary madness in the saga, accompanied by a greater variety of areas, activities and missions.
Temo: That the current hardware has become obsolete for a world of this size and, therefore, lax technically.
A saga that I have grown up with that, finally, gives way to the 3D graphics, placing yourself on a new continent and adding new creatures. Can you ask for more?
The saga has experienced an increase in quality and diversity in its latest titles, Black and White and their respective sequels, so it is to be expected that, in addition to the graphic change, the game will maintain the playable type.
I want to: Certain additions and improvements such as a somewhat deeper storyline, well-implemented side tasks, and new inspired Pokémon
Temo: That the work invested in the graphic and technical means neglecting the playable content of the title.
It is not even confirmed that it will come out this year, you will have to cross your fingers for it. As a recognized fan of the saga The Elder Scrolls and his lore, the idea of a MMORPG I found the saga more than interesting from the beginning.
It is no mystery that both Oblivion and Skyrim have few classic elements of what can be considered an RPG. Thus, perhaps this installment offers elements of the genre. Who knows? For now, the little that has been seen looks pretty good. And the idea of getting to travel the entire continent of nirn it is more than exciting.
Want: Amounts and variety of content that keep us glued to the game. Good recreation of the continent and the folklore of the saga.
I fear: Monthly fees. There are many cases of MMORPG's that, on paper, seemed to come to stay and have ended up switching to the model free2play or falling into oblivion.
Orbis and Durango are the code names of the next consoles of Sony and Microsoft respectively. During the last couple of years we have been able to appreciate in certain titles that the current hardware is giving its last blows and a renewal is necessary.
There are many rumors and few confirmations about possible announcements, dates, hardware and prices of this next-gen. Something that seems to be taken for granted is his announcement at E3 and even earlier.
I want to: A true technical leap that allows not only graphic improvements but also to go further in animations, AI, destructibility, etc.
Temo: Too important to content that has little or nothing to do with video games. Strange experiments when it comes to control or hardware.
Wii U he's been on the street for a couple of months and his future catalog it is practically deserted. It is true that great titles such as Rayman Legends, Bayonetta 2 or Pikmin 3 are coming. But users are not satisfied with that and they need more.
The outlay of the console should be rewarded with big announcements for the new Nintendo console that, on the other hand, would serve to counter the announcements of the new hardware of the rival companies.
I want to: As is logical, I expect a 3D Mario, a possible Yoshi's Island, the new from Retro Studios and Monolith. But above all, a new The Legend of Zelda.
Temo: That the advertised catalog is enough for the company and let's pass a blank E3.
And you, what do you expect from this year that has just begun?
