The German government forces WhatsApp to stop collecting data from its users

WhatsApp

A couple of days ago, our colleague Jordi informed you about the changes in the terms and conditions of the WhatsApp application, some changes that request our permission so that the company could start sharing our phone number and everything we do on Facebook with third-party companies so thatand contact us directly through the application or through our account on the social network. If we decide that Facebook's intrusion into our lives has reached this point, WhatsApp kindly informs us that we had to stop using the application. In other words: either you go through the hoop or you forget to use WhatsApp.

Germany, one of the countries that cares most about the privacy of its users on the Internet, has contacted WhatsApp so that stop collecting and transferring the data you have obtained so far and also delete all the information obtained so far since announcing the changes in the terms and conditions of the service. The Hamburg court that made this decision, affirms that the more than 35 million WhatsApp users in the country have not been duly notified of the changes in the conditions of service that involve the trading of their data.

It is clear that Facebook bought WhatsApp sooner or later to start marketing the data after integrating it into Facebook, despite Mark Zuckerberg's announcement when he bought the messaging company in which stated that it would never sell personal information about users and that it would not change its privacy policies.

Who wants something, it costs something. There is nothing free on the internet. Most companies that offer free services trade with our information in order to maintain the services and what WhatsApp is trying to do is a logical step in a market economy in which you have to earn income in order to maintain a service.
