Google is getting closer to taking over the mobile division of HTC

A few years ago, in a movement that surprised the telecommunications sector, Google took over Motorola. Shortly after, as we know, he sold it to Lenovo but kept most of his patents, the main reason for his purchase, for a much lower price than he had paid years before.

HTC has not just found the winning Ceballos in the telephony sector, and the latest figures released by the company confirm the wrong path they are on. Everything seems to indicate that Google wants to take advantage of this situation and buy the mobile division of HTC.

Two weeks ago Bloomberg published a piece of news in which it was rumored that Google might be interested in HTC, but only in the mobile division, leaving aside the virtual reality division, a division that seems to be the only one that is working. Again the publication has published a new article in which it states that the decision is strictly made and that is only pending to close small fringes. In this way Google would begin to design and actually manufacture its own mobile phones, as announced last year with the launch of Google Pixel.

Google has relied on the Taiwan-based manufacturer in recent years to make the majority of Nexus and now the Pixel range, it is clear that the relations between the two companies have always been very good and Google's need to find a manufacturer has coincided with the bad time that the HTC company is going through.

If the purchase is finally confirmed, It would mean the entry into the market of a new manufacturer with enough power to be able to stand up to most companies that dominate the market, as long as you intend to do so by offering your terminals at more than competitive prices. If Google had not only dedicated itself to the development of Android, but had also put its head in the manufacture, it is very likely that the current distribution of the telephony market would be very different from the current one.
