Nintendo's Mario is no longer a plumber

Super Mario Run

Mario has practically since his birth become one of the most beloved characters in the world of video games. Since 1981 we have always known Mario as a plumber with a mustache, but it seems that almost 40 years later, he has decided to request pre-retirement and dedicate himself to running adventures around the world, at least that is what is clear from the description that the Japanese website Nintendo plays Mario in its latest update, where at no time does he talk about his abilities to fix water pipes or fix faucetss, something that does not surprise us if we take a look at the almost 200 games that he has starred in since his appearance in the world of video games.

According to Miyamoto, the creator of this character, they came up with the idea of making him a plumber because in his first game used the pipes to get around becoming a fundamental part of the game, like all of you who have played the classic Mario Bros surely you know, although at first the idea that he was a carpenter was raised, an idea that was rejected since it did not fit with the theme they wanted to offer of this curious characters with cap, mustache and blue jumpsuit.

The idea of adding a mustache was motivated to facilitate the work of the developers so as not to have to reproduce the movement of the mouth as well as adding a cap, in this way they did not have to animate the movement of the hair in each jump that this character made.

Super Mario Run

Nintendo has taken many years to bring this mythical character of the company to mobile platforms, and when it did, it was not to the liking of many users due to the high price of the game compared to other games, which earned him a large number of criticisms and that the money he estimated to raise was not what he finally got.
