SHAREfactory: After updating your PS4 to v.1.70, an icon to download the free SHAREfactory application will appear on the home screen of your PS4 system when available. Once installed, SHAREfactory allows you to easily customize your game with special effects, video commentary with picture-in-picture capabilities thanks to the PlayStation Camera, and personalized soundtracks with the included audio tracks or your original music imported from a USB drive. Videos can be shared on Facebook or exported to external USB storage device. The app is packed with great and accessible tools. It's simple enough for novice editors to use, while it works as a formatted video editor for those with more creative aspirations. Automatic pre-download: Soon you will be able to start downloading certain games that you have reserved from the PlayStation Store. This new feature allows you to get games earlier by automatically downloading selected reserved games up to several days before launch, so you'll have them ready to play as soon as they are released. There is also a countdown before the launch of the game thanks to which you will know what is left so that you can have the game available to play.
Option to disable HDCP for games: This highly requested feature will allow you to have the option to disable HDCP for gaming, so you can capture longer gaming sessions directly from the HDMI output and export them elsewhere.
Export to USB option for captured game: Now it's easier than ever to flaunt your most heroic gaming moments and the SHAREfactory videos you create with the ability to export your videos and screenshots to a USB drive. Press the SHARE button on the DUALSHOCK 4 controller, save your game to a USB drive, and then share your proudest achievements on other social media and video platforms.
HD Live Streaming and File Support: We have increased the resolution of live broadcasts so that you and your friends can watch live games in HD 720p. You can also archive the streams on Twitch or Ustream and watch them later.
New sharing options: We have a number of new sharing settings that will give you better control of what you want to share with friends.
- Change the default game recording time in the Share menu in Video clip settings.
- Save only the video clips and screenshots you want by selecting Upload screenshot or Upload video clip for each capture. Video clips and screenshots can also be uploaded during live game broadcasts.
- Select specific Facebook audiences to share each video or screenshot with.
New DUALSHOCK 4 options: A light bar gradation setting has been added to the DUALSHOCK 4 knob that allows you to switch to Bright, Medium or Dark in the Settings menu. The touch panel has also been updated, this allows you to navigate the on-screen keyboard with the touch panel on the DUALSHOCK 4 controller.
New friend options: Finding friends and sending friend requests is now easier with the ability to search for friends of friends, view mutual friends with another user profile, and accept friend requests directly from the friends list.
New option to order trophies: Trophies can now be sorted by rarity in the Options menu.
Payment support on PlayStation Store: As with PS3, we are introducing Alternative Payment Methods (MPA) for PS4 content purchased from the PS Store, starting with PayPal support.
More commands for PlayStation Camera: More voice commands are added for PlayStation Camera, allowing you to run the applications installed on your PS4 with the sound of your voice.
New PlayStation Plus icon: For Plus members, the PS Plus icon will appear next to the SEN ID on the login screen, home screen, and other areas of the PS4 system's neat user interface.
Sharing options in Music Unlimited: With a Music Unlimited subscription, you can easily share your favorite songs with friends by pressing the SHARE button on the DUALSHOCK 4 controller.
