Westworld is a science fiction series, currently on HBO, which among its great virtues has shown us what could happen in the immediate future with a series of devices that stand out for having no bezels and their ability to fold as if they were a book.
That future could be closer than we think knowing that in this year 2017, Samsung will launch a foldable device that has been known since 2014. A smartphone that would have the ability to become a whole tablet when necessary.
A report today indicates that Samsung would be prepared to debut a folding smartphone in the third quarter 2017. Sources close to the Korea Herald maintain that Samsung plans to produce 100.000 units of this foldable device. What still remains is the confirmation by the Korean company, since it is the same who doubts about the profitability and marketing of it.
A device that would be characterized by panels that would be visible when folded, but that when opened, the device could be used as if it were a 7 inch tablet.
Ya in 2014 Samsung released a video of a concept device in which a similar product was presented. What remains for us to know is when it will make the official announcement, if so, we are in the third quarter of this year before a device to Westworld.
Is even LG the one who is preparing its own folding device of which it will produce 100.000 units by the fourth quarter of this year 2017.
