Sony launches the FES Watch U 2, a highly customizable smartwatch

Although the segment of smart watches seems to have emerged, the vast majority of users complain of an obvious reality, the low autonomy of the batteries. Wouldn't it be great to have a fashionable smartwatch that we love and that also lasts for several days without having to be charged? Well, this is precisely the proposal that we bring you today in Actualidad Gadget.

The Sony Fashion Entertainments company (a subsidiary of Sony) has launched the second generation of its Sony FES Watch U in Japan, a smartwatch that is really more of a fashion accessory and that is presented with electronic ink screen, so its autonomy is much higher.

FES Watch U: more autonomous, slimmer, more customizable

The new watch FES WatchU Sony makes use of electronic ink and, although the first thing that comes to mind is its energy saving and autonomy, the truth is that opting for this technology offers other advantages, such as the notable reduction of electronic components in such a way that the FES Watch U is thinner than any other smartwatch available on the market, and its frames have been considerably reduced.

But without a doubt, the biggest advantage is that the flexible nature of e-ink displays has allowed it to be extended onto the belt of the clock. This means that in practice the user can customize the straps with the same motif that appears on the watch face. As a result, it gives us the feeling of being in a single piece, which makes it a very elegant fashion accessory.

Another novelty of this second generation of the watch is that users will be able to create their own watch faces from their photos, so the degree of customization is maximum. To do this, it is necessary to use the complementary app available for iOS and to Android. With it, users can take a snapshot with their smartphone camera and select the vertical section to be transferred to the FES Watch U screen in black and white.

The Sony FES Watch U is already available in Japan in three color options that you see on these lines; the White and Silver models have an equivalent cost of $ 417 while the Premium Black model rises to $ 544. At the moment, the plans for international expansion are unknown.
