The Sims 4 deleted item list borders on embarrassing

It was yesterday when we published a small opinion piece on The sims 4 and that lack of feeling of freshness and novelty despite arriving more than 5 years after the third installment of the franchise. And it was last night (peninsular time) that since EA and Maxis they broadcast via streaming on Twitch about a couple of hours of the game showing certain news about the title and answering questions from users and viewers of the game. It was curious to see how a huge part of those two hours were spent in the new construction mode without attending to the rest of the fields of the title, yes.

Now one dumbfounded one checks official list of more than eighty items and features removed or drastically reduced from previous installments from The Sims. This list has been compiled by the vast number of websites, blogs and forums related to The Sims, making sure to find proof and confirmations of these deletions and absences, whether in team statements, videos or demos. KEY SIMS 3 FEATURES REMOVED

• Create a deleted style. It will not be added in future expansions.
• No modifications to buildings or public spaces.
• No "normal" professions. Medicine, business, law and others eliminated.
• No open world. Loading screens between the different blocks. Each neighborhood has 1-5 blocks.
• No swimming pools.
• No infants.
• No terrain modification options beyond painting. Completely flat terrain.
• No progression. Sims not managed by the user will not grow up, have children, work, marry, or move.
• No possibility of creating or placing new blocks on the stage. There will only be TWO voids on the stage.
• No Mac version at launch.

KEY FEATURES IN SIMS 3 CROPPED / RESTRICTED

• All buildings in the same block must have the same foundation.
• Babies are mere objects. All possible interaction is through the crib. There are no objects for babies.
• The funds are illusions. The buildings seen in the background are not accessible in the game.
• Completely flat blocks. The entire buildable world is totally flat.
• Fewer levels / floors in each house. Limited to three floors per construction.
• SIGNIFICANTLY smaller worlds. Fewer than 25 blocks when The Sims 3 exceeded 125.
• Smaller blocks. It goes from 64 × 64 to 50 × 50.
• Each block has loading screens.
• The map is a flat image, without dimensions or depth.
• Young people are the same height as adults and the elderly, as well as being extremely similar.

OTHER ELEMENTS REMOVED FROM PREVIOUS DELIVERIES (LS1-LS3)

• No acne.
• Without aliens.
• No animated movie.
• No flaws in the aspirations of the Sims.
• No babysitters.
• No waiters.
• No basements.
• No bookstores.

• No color choice wheel. Limited to around 20 colors.
• No need for "Convenience".

• No possibility of choosing several colors in multi-color hairs. Only the principal is chosen.
• No dinner propositions.
• Without diseases.
• Without dreams.
• No favorites (food, color, music).
• Without fears.
• No full makeup.
• No garage doors.
• No gardeners to hire.
• No ghosts.
• No food stores.
• No body hair.
• No newspapers.
• No opacity slider for makeup.
• No party invites from other Sims.
• No private school.
• No hospitals, offices, schools, etc.
• No random or accidental deaths.
• No plumber.
• No bodyguards.
• No restaurants.
• No slider for the skin.
• No swimming or swimming clothes.
• No tragic clown or social rabbit.
• No chance to see a Sim going to work or school.
• No zodiac signs.

OBJECTS REMOVED FROM PREVIOUS DELIVERIES

• Without bikes.
• No changing tables.
• No dishwasher.
• No cribs.
• No baby carriages.
• No jacuzzi.
• No pool tables.
• No trash compactors.

In short, a more than extensive list of elements eliminated or capped with respect to previous deliveries that highlights the little interest on the part of EA and Maxis in pleasing the user beyond having a ticket printing machine in The Sims since the multiple expansions will have to add a Premium subscription that, it seems, will be necessary depending on what things in the game. The work of both studios with SimCity left a lot to be desired and the criticism was really harsh with what was a clear step back in the franchise. Now, it seems that The Sims 4 is going the same way.

I hope and wish that both critics and audiences will be as tough as a job like this deserves. Nor only not enough weight news is provided, but everything added in expansions is eliminated again and, in addition, dozens of elements seen in previous deliveries are deleted. In The Sims 4 we will have smaller worlds, with less variety, without interconnected neighborhoods to go through and with limitations when building as a completely flat terrain or a maximum of three floors. A real embarrassment.
