WhatsApp reaches 1.200 million active users

It had been almost a year since Mark Zuckerberg made numbers and reported on the number of followers that the different platforms on which it is available currently have, which are not few. Along with the presentation of financial results, in which it has shown a profit of 10.217 million dollars, it has also reported on the number of active WhatsApp users: 1.200 billion. This figure has increased by 20% compared to the figure announced a year ago. Its main rival, Facebook Messenger, which has inherited the majority of people who have an account on the social network as users, has 1.000 million active users per month.

WhatsApp is still the platform most chosen by the majority of smartphone users, despite having modified the conditions of service to pass our data to the social network, conditions of service that it was forced to withdraw after several European judges considered them unclear. Throughout the year, the green messaging application has been receiving new developments, an aspect that has always cost more than normal and which users do not seem to give much importance to.

Despite being available in 187 countries, It is not the queen of messaging in all, only in 109, which is not bad for being one of the first to hit the market. In countries where WhatsApp is not the main messaging application, we find Facebook Messenger, which are part of the same company, so they share almost the entire cake between them. WeChat for example is the queen of China, while Line is it in Japan. In the Middle East Viber is the master. As we can see, Asia is where WhatsApp continues to encounter more problems when it comes to reaching more users.
