But beware, because the new fee will not only apply to new customers, but also to current. The rise has been without prior notice and with an effective date at the time of communication. If you are not a customer from Amazon Prime and want to subscribe, the upload will be applied instantly. But if you already have a subscription active, it will depend on its expiration the moment the new rate is applied to you, as explained below:
- For new Amazon Prime customers: from today the subscription will cost 36 euros per year.
- For current Amazon Prime customers: if you have to renew your quota before October 2, they will charge you 19,95 €s, and the upgrade will be applied in the 2019 renewal. If the subscription expires from October 3, it will be renewed applying the new rate of € 36 per year.
- For customers currently on the Amazon Prime free trial month: If after the free month you want to subscribe, they will respect the 19,95 euros, applying the rise from 2019 in case they wish to renew
