Android 8.0 Octopus?

As every year, since Google presents the first preliminary version of its next mobile operating system, speculations and deductions about what its final name will be soar. It happened with Android M, it happened with Android N, and it's happening with Android O.

Finally, those letters end up being the beginning of a word (Marshmallow or Nougat for versions 6.0 and 7.0), as you can see, candy or sweets by their name in English. This year, Android 8.0 has been codenamed "Android O", which has led many to think of "Oreo" (We already had a Kit-Kat, so don't be surprised) however, an easter egg in the latest beta version has upset all the bets.

Android O: from oreo to octopus

If plans go according to plan, it won't be long until Google officially launches the next version of its mobile operating system, Android 8.0, and this despite the fact that the current version is only found in ten or twelve out of every hundred devices. In any case, like every year around this time, the bets continue: what will be the final name of Android 8.0?

Recently, Google published the fourth (and last) beta for developers, and among the new features included, one has attracted powerfully attention: when you access the device information and press several times in a row on the text of the Android version, an octopus appears floating on a blue background, and you can interact with it. It is what is known as an "easter egg".

Coincidentally, the codename of Android 8.0 is "Android O", and curiously, octopus in English is spelled "Octopus". According to this deduction, there are already many who bet on Android 8.0 Octopus as an official name, which would mean abandoning the traditional names of sweets and candies in favor of this marine octopod.

How about the deduction? Would you like the name change if confirmed?
