Android Pay is now available in Spain from the hand of BBVA

Google

Although relatively less time has passed since the official presentation of Android Pay, which came to replace Google Wallet, the electronic payment system using an NFC chip has taken less time to be available in Spain, one of the most often forgotten countries by the big ones like Google and Apple, not by Samsung, already Spain was the first European country where the electronic payment platform Samsung Pay was available. After reaching the end of Apple Apple Pay in Spain from the hand of Banco Santander, now it is the turn of Android Pay, again from the hand of another of the large banks, BBVA, we do not know if exclusively for a time as has happened with Santander and Apple Pay.

Android Pay

It seems that finally the mobile payments platform created by BBVA has had so little success that they have decided to partner with Google to be the first bank in Spain in allowing us to add our bank cards and pay only through our smartphone, a smartphone that obviously must have an NFC chip to be able to make payments, since it is done by bringing the terminal closer to the POS.

Android Pay is compatible with BBVA Mastercard and VISA cards, cards that we can add quickly by taking a photograph so that the data numbering is added automatically. If you use a BBVA credit card associated with Google Play, you will not need to fill in anything, since the application itself will take care of obtaining the data and including it in Android Pay.

For several years, practically 99% of shops offer compatibility with this type of technology, the same used by contactless credit cards, so that when it comes to making payments in our usual shops it will not be a problem. Now we just have to wait and see how long it takes to reach other banks, banks that will probably be forced to get rid of their electronic payment system, as has happened to BBVA if it wants to get fully into new technologies.
