Android Things, the new Google operating system

Android Things

The Google developer team has just launched a new version of its platform on the market that, as you can see in the image at the top of this post, will be very oriented towards the so-called Internet of Things. We are basically talking about a evolution of the operating system that until now we knew as Brillo and that, in this new version, among other novelties, will become known as Android Things.

As reported by Google itself, apparently the idea behind this new launch has been to join Brightness, a software originally designed for the Internet of Things, with some of the services that until now were available on the Android developer platform such as Android Studio, Google Play, Google Cloud ... Thanks to this union of services, a platform based on the ease of use and implementation of Android is born, ideal for all those developers who want to give life to their devices.

Android Things, a new version of Android exclusively for the internet of things.

In this way a new version of the famous Google operating system was born specifically developed to be used in a specific series of devices, something very similar to Android Wear, exclusive for smartwach, although this time very focused to be used in the internet of things.

One of the most interesting news that will come to Android Things, as announced by Google, is the compatibility of its platform Weave to this new operating system. As a reminder, tell you that Google Weave is the platform that until now allowed connecting devices related to the Internet of Things with the services of the American company. If you are interested in starting to develop on this new operating system, tell you that the Android Things Developer Preview is available from this page.
