Apple made a strange move allowing you to install old versions of iOS

Move to iOS

Apple is making a series of strange movements that are not usual in the company and that is that for those who are not familiar with the company of the bitten apple, once it launches a new firmware version for all users, the previous version leaves available preventing users from installing an older version of iOS. To give an example, right now the iPhone have the official version 11.2.2, because downgrading to iOS 10.3 was impossible because Apple did not sign that version, because for a few hours and we assume that due to an error, iOS versions 7, 8 and 10 have been available for many iPhone models ...

And we speak in the past tense because the usual versions that are available to sign on the devices and prevent users from installing old versions on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are back. But for those who have an iPhone 5 or 5s it is still possible to install iOS 7.0.3, 70.4, 7.1, 7.1.1, 8.0, 11.2, 11.xx as you can see in the photo that we leave here below.

If you are a user of this device (something old already but fully functional) you can downgrade and even dare with the Jailbreak if you know how to do it and if it is for any of these old versions. Really this option to install an old iOS it was done mainly to install the Jalibreak, but be careful! And it is that by installing an old firmware we expose ourselves to the vulnerabilities solved in the most recent versions of iOS.

You can search for older and unsigned firmware versions on the web IPSW.me and in it download right now the previous version signed by Apple for their devices. With this, it is then possible to download the iOS version, but this is something that we do not recommend doing if you are not an advanced user of the system. Right now for the iPhone 6, 6s onwards what remains available signed by Apple is: iOS 11.2.1, iOS 11.2 iOS 11.1.2.

This is all just another blunder in 2018 That does not start too well for Apple and more considering that some models of the brand are having serious problems with batteries, Macs have some security problems in macOS and others. Apple put the batteries!

Look! I currently have an iPad 4 which in the eyes of Apple is obsolete and that is why it does not receive any more updates since iOS 11, do you think Apple will release a security patch against the Meltdown or Specter attack? These devices and even older ones are also vulnerable !! You have no doubt that the jailbreak community could make a patch that will cover this vulnerability? Because Apple is not going to do anything in relation to this issue with obsolete devices…. and there are many !!! What he would have to do if he has some dignity left is to be able to choose at least which version of IOS you could install and the user to decide if he wanted to jailbreak or not, as the performance of many of these devices would improve considerably.

Gorka Boats Of course, the Jailbreak community will not be able to release a patch, because if the problem is in the kernel and you don't have the source code, how do you patch it?

Rubén Corral and how has Apple patched it in their brand new devices?
