We do not know if you have been able to see videos of the acceleration of the different Tesla vehicles. If you do, you will see how the occupants tend to give a jolt from the acceleration and force with which they push the electric motors. Now, and if we tell you that the British company Ariel is building a supercar (HIPERCAR as they call it) promises an electric motor out of the ordinary: 1.180 CV of force and a maximum speed that exceeds 250 km / h.

HIPERCAR is how the vehicle is known, although the commercial name to be given to the final product has not yet been decided (Elektron is rumored). Next month of September wants to present a first concept based on carbon fiber. Although it will not be until 2019 when the final model is presented. And its mass production would be during the year 2020. The price at the moment is unknown. But there will not be a single model, but two: one all-wheel drive and the other rear-wheel drive.

The HIPERCAR with all-wheel drive will be the most powerful, with a torque of 1.800 Nm. The data offered by the company itself are the following:

  • 0 - 60 mph - 100 km / h - 2.4 seconds
  • 0 - 100 mph - 161 km / h - 3.8 seconds
  • 0 - 150 mph - 241 km / h - 7.8 seconds
  • Maximum speed: 160 mph - 257 km / h

This HIPERCAR will be powered by a 42 or 56 kWh rechargeable lithium battery. Although a 35 kW power generating turbine —And fueled by gasoline— which will feed the electric motor. In this way, its autonomy will be extended even more (figure that has not been disclosed).

On the other hand, the other rear-wheel drive model will have more modest figures. his engine will have 590 hp of power and a torque of 900 Nm. How many sports cars would want that power under their hood? Its aluminum chassis; its carbon fiber body; and its carbon wheels with low-profile tires in 20-inch front and 21-inch rear sizes will bring its price to about £ 1 million.
