Blue Origin successfully tests its space capsule

Blue Origin

After a long time without knowing news about one of the great main actors in the space race that we are experiencing, for a few weeks it seems that all the credit goes to private companies such as SpaceX or Boeing, today it is the turn of talking about Blue Origin, which, according to a press release that has been published by themselves, have successfully tested their new space capsule.

As a reminder, tell you that for many months it was Jeff Bezos himself, owner and director of Blue Origin, who announced that a team of engineers and designers from his company had begun working on a new version of their space capsule, same that was known by the name of 'Crew Capsule'. Unfortunately, it has not been until now when we finally know that the project is still in full development, but the first tests carried out are a success.

Jeff Bezos delights us with interesting images about the Blue Origin space capsule

Before continuing, let you know that all this information has largely come from Jeff Bezos's own official twitter, who has shared an interesting video where we can see how a rocket equipped with the new capsule takes off and, seconds later, see how they both land separately.

One detail that has attracted a lot of attention is that, despite the fact that, as you can see in the video, the test has been a success, the company did not want to give more details about the test itself, that is, no information is known about the interior equipment of the capsule itself, the extra weight, if it was carrying, to simulate possible passengers or payload ... What we can see is that it is already equipped with those characteristic windows 110 centimeters high, today the largest installed in a space capsule.

Although it is true that perhaps the most interesting thing was to see this second version of the capsule created by Blue Origin, we cannot stop talking about the characteristic New Shepard rocket, a reusable rocket model created by the American company that in recent months has proven capable of taking off and returning to the ground without too many complications. Unlike the last test trips carried out, this time it had been equipped with that spectacular cabin that, in the not too distant future, will be in charge of taking humans into space.

Blue Origin wants to focus on the private space travel market

Now, although we put companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin in the same bag, the truth is that their vision regarding the market they want to serve is very different since, while at SpaceX they seek to be the first to get there to Mars, so they work on creating much more powerful rockets, the company of Jeff Bezos wants to focus almost exclusively on offering private space tours.

It is mainly because of this that its engineers do everything possible to attend to other types of priorities, such as creating a capsule like the one you see on the screen and that stands out for being equipped with first-rate elements such as the huge windows, a large screen where you can see the entire exterior of the capsule as well as real-time data on altitude and speed or reclining seats upholstered in premium leather.

This is the way Blue Origin wants to convince that huge number of people with a lot of money that spending a good amount of money on space travel is a very good idea. Even so, there is still a long way to go before the race to be a leader in a sector of the market yet to be explored, such as private space travel, begins. There are still many more tests to perform until this service can be launched on the market..
