Dark mode is now available in Outlook. We show you how to activate it

Depending on how you use your computer, either during the day or at night, along with the surrounding lighting conditions, you will probably prefer to use applications or web services with dark mode activated, a dark mode that significantly reduces screen brightness, so in the long run, the eyes are less tiring.

Yes, not the same effect as the blue light effect that monitors produce about our sleep, but it largely solves this problem. The last web service that has jumped on the bandwagon and already offers us, even in beta, the dark mode, is Microsoft's mail, Outlook, a dark mode that replaces the light and bright background with a completely dark one.

Outlook dark mode

Once we have activated the dark mode, the background and menu color becomes a dark gray of a different hue so that we can differentiate at all times, the configuration area, the inbox and what is the body of the messages. In the image that heads this article, you can see the difference between the dark mode activated and the normal mode.

If you want to try for yourself, how the dark mode is activated, then we show you the steps to follow.

  • First, we access the Outlook web and enter our credentials.
  • Next, we go to the cogwheel located at the top right of the screen, next to the Skype button.
  • By clicking on the gear, the quick configuration menu will be displayed. In this section, we must activate the switch Dark mode. Right at that moment, the background color will change.

Although at first glance we may not be very funny, if we give it a chance, it is more than likely that we have this mode always activated, especially if we use our computer in low light environments. Our eyes will thank us.
