DeepCoder is now capable of creating its own programs and applications

Deepcoder

Every day new and amazing solutions are presented with which their creators want to make our lives a little easier. This is the path that artificial intelligence is following and, without a doubt, rare is the day that some team does not surprise us with something new. This time I want to talk to you about Deepcoder, a platform created by Microsoft Research in collaboration with the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom that is capable of developing computer programs.

I have to admit that the idea of a system capable of programming is something that draws a lot of attention since we are talking about one of the perhaps most complex issues of the moment since, although there are many programmers, very few really know for sure what it is what they do. With this platform and just by giving a few initial guidelines everything would become much easier.

DeepCoder is already capable of solving very simple problems using software.

In order to develop DeepCoder, its creators have decided to use a technique known as synthesis programming, a methodology, to call it somehow, by which a computer can program automatically. With this in mind, let me tell you that what the artificial intelligence behind DeepCoder really does is search a database for code to build its own software capable of solve simple problems.

As you can see from the previous lines and, as its creators confess, at the moment the truth is that DeepCoder is still not capable of solving much more complex problems since it has many limitations. For now, in case you are a developer you are interested in this part, its creators are not interested in DeepCoder taking your job away, but you can use it for routine tasks and dedicate yourself full time to certain much more complex tasks.

That is for the moment, but I know the mind of an entrepreneur and if future software can do that of a developer, maybe we will dedicate ourselves to making calculators? #TechnologyandFuture
