Andy Rubin's Essential Phone drops its price to $ 499

Over the last few years, we have talked a lot and there has been speculation about the smartphone Andy Rubin was working on, a smartphone that he claimed it would be a point already part in the world of technology. But as we could see last May, the date on which it was officially presented, the Essential Phone does not stand out for anything in particular, since it is a terminal like most of those that we can currently find on the market, with a screen almost frames and hardware that is also available in most high-end devices. If I had released it last year, another rooster would crow.

But, in addition to the disappointment that this phone has caused in the technology sector, we have to add the price, a price that is too high for what it really offered as a novice in this field, $ 699 plus taxes. If you plan to travel to the United States and you are clear that this is your terminal, you are in luck, since the company has reduced its price by $ 200, leaving it at only $ 499. And I say travel to the United States, because at the moment we do not know when it will launch in Europe, a launch that in theory is planned to do so through operators.

This price reduction is motivated by the low sales that this terminal is having in the United States, a terminal that is not bad, but that has been delayed a lot in time, which has caused that when it made its appearance on the market, it was not through the front door, but rather because of the service one. All customers who have already trusted this terminal will receive a check for $ 200, to spend on accessories for the Essential Phone or on the purchase of another terminal.

Inside the Essential Phone we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The screen, with 18: 9 format, has 5,71 inches and it is managed by an Adreno 540 GPU. The bluetooth version is 5.0 and it is managed by Android N. On the back, we find a 13 mpx double camera and an 8 mpx front one.
