Favorites to win Eurovision 2019
The bookmakers not only allow us to make sports bets, but also enter the world of song through Eurovision. According to most bookmakers, of the 41 participants, only 9 stand out. In first position and with more options to win the festival is Duncan Laurence from the Netherlands, followed by John Lundvik from Sweden and the Frenchwoman Bilan Hassani.
In fourth position with the most chances of winning we find the Russian Sergey Lazarev, followed by the Australian Kate Miller-Heidke and Chingiz from Azerbaijan. Italy, Switzerland and Malta are in the 7th, 8th and 9th position with the most options to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Once again, Spain is out of the favorites, despite having completely changed registration with the candidate that presents this year, compared to previous editions.
How the voting system works in Eurovision
Countries give a score of 12 points to your favorite song. The second song that they liked the most gets 10 points while the third one 8. From then on the score decreases one by one. In the event of a tie and due to the controversy that arose in 1969, when four countries (France, Spain, United Kingdom and the Netherlands) won the Eurovision Song Contest by a tie a year later they changed the rules.
In case two or more songs get the same score, the winning country will be the one that has obtained 12 points the most times in the voting. If the tie continues, the highest number of votes of 10 points will continue to be counted and so on. It was not until 1991, when two countries tied again in the final (France and Sweden), obtaining 146 points.
Finally Sweden was the winner since despite being tied in the number of countries that had given them 12 points, it was not so with the number of countries that had given them 1st points. Sweden was voted by 5 countries with 10 points while France received 4 countries 1st points.
Where the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 is held
This year Eurovision is celebrated in Israel. The reason is none other than the contest rules themselves. These state that the winning country will be in charge of celebrating the following year's edition. Since 1957 this rule has always been followed except on five occasions, four of them motivated by the fact that the countries could not bear the high costs of organization. On only one occasion, the winner of the contest cannot organize it in his country because he cannot offer a suitable venue for the event.

Eurovision Curiosities
- Ireland is the country that has won the most editions, 7 times, while Norway is the country that has finished last the most times (10 times). But the icing on the cake is taken by Portugal, a country that with 50 entries, only 10 have managed to sneak into the top 10.
- The Eurovision anthem is a religious work from the XNUMXth century entitled Te Deum composed by Marc-Antonie Charpentier.
- The maximum number of countries that reach the final is 26. Due to the large number of participating countries, two semi-finals are held in the previous days.
- Spain, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom are always in the final as they are the founders of this contest.
- The maximum number of people on stage in each performance is 6.
- It is not necessary to reside or have the nationality of a country to participate representing it, being Celine Dion in 1998 representing Switzerland. Another example is found when Luxembourg sent Nana Mouskouri (Greek).
- When it began to be broadcast, most Spanish homes did not have television and its broadcast was through the radio.
- Political content is not allowed, to prevent political opinions from influencing the vote, although it is a suspicion that you have always planned on this event.
- The music of the songs is always recorded, while the voices, of course, must be live.
- So far, a total of 52 countries have participated, of which just over half (27) have managed to win on occasion.
