A former Google employee sues the company for spying on him while he worked

Google

As stated in the lawsuit against Google filed in California, United States, by one of its former product managers, apparently the company makes use of a class of spyware through which, the directors of the same, would be informed of all the activities that their employees carry out in their jobs. In addition to this, as this person who wanted to remain anonymous has reported, the company has also created a website through which employees can accuse each other in the event that someone suspects that someone may be taking information abroad.

As you can see, it seems that Google is not that peaceful place where its employees can access free food or recreational areas of entertainment, but rather that the internal relations of the company are too hard, so much so that, according to what can be read in the complaint, it appears that the employees have strictly forbidden to write a book while working for the company without the explicit consent of Google itself or the fact that they are literally threatened with being dismissed in a sudden way if it is proven that they leak information abroad.

If the complaint is successful, Google could be sanctioned with up to 3.800 million dollars.

On the other hand, it has also been revealed that employees have forbidden to talk about their working conditions among themselves or with the media. These are part of the reasons that the employee has to sue Google since he believes for sure that his rights as a worker have been violated. According to some estimates based on counts per employee, if this claim is successful, Google could be sanctioned with up to 3.800 million dollars.

Attending to one's own Google, who did not want to go into too much detail about this possible complaint, in a statement he expressed:

This claim is baseless. We are highly committed to an open internal culture, which means we frequently share details of product launches and confidential business information with employees.
