EZVIZ H8c, a complete camera for family use

EZVIZ-Sensor

Cameras have become one more element that allows us to control, manage and, above all, monitor our home. Far from traditional, there are few technology-loving users who do not already have one or more of these devices in their home, which is why, in Actualidad Gadget We bring you analyzes of home security cameras, this way, you can decide between the extensive range available on the market.

EZVIZ is a firm that knows the needs of users, that's why today we bring you the In-depth analysis of the new EZVIZ H8c camera, complete, simple and functional to easily monitor your home, discover all its features.

Design: No risk, functionality prevails

The dimensions of the packaging are 140x140x192 millimeters, which It does not contrast too much with its 100x128x149 millimeters, which are the measurements of the product. It is made, how could it be otherwise, of white polycarbonate, except for the mobile body of the sensor, which is made of black polycarbonate, both with a matt coating, for obvious reasons, since we are talking about a security device .

We are talking about a camera that has vertical and horizontal movement, so it is not surprising this very traditional design that we have already seen in many other products, a kind of cylinder with a flat base in the connection area.

EZVIZ - rear

  • Allows its use indoors and outdoors, waterproof

The camera sensor and the rest of the hardware that will carry out the pertinent image processing tasks are dropped and vice versa. It has a membrane on the back for the corresponding sound emission and capture systems. At the same time, the mobile part of the camera is where we will find both the button Reset as the port to insert the memory card, which we can access through the device management application.

These ports are protected with screws, in order to overcome inclement weather and of course to provide the camera with extra security. In the same way, the cables, which run away from the traditional USB connections, hang from the back.

As for the wall adapter, the screws, the guides and the rest of the essential elements for its installation, they are included in the box. On the other hand, the total weight of the camera is 420 grams, which will not pose any problem for handling.

Technical characteristics

We now focus on the hardware, what it touches. The most important thing in a device with these characteristics is the camera. We are talking about a 1/2,7″ progressive scan CMOS sensor, with an adaptive shutter according to the needs of the capture.

The lens is 4mm with an f/2.0 aperture, this gives you a viewing angle of 46º vertical, 89º horizontal and a diagonal of 104º. However, as we have already mentioned before, we find a camera that has 360º panoramic movement, so the capture angles will not be a problem if we take into account that, in turn, we have an 80º tilt adjustment. .

It allows you to capture images in total darkness thanks to its infrared sensor, which has a pass filter that allows automatic switching from day to night capture mode, which improves daily use. In addition, it includes various software improvements such as digital noise reduction, a wide dynamic range (not HDR) also digital. At this point, the capture of images in total darkness is extended to 30 meters, a considerable distance as I have been able to appreciate in comparison with other products with similar characteristics.

The result is image capture at Full HD resolution (1920x1080p), with a maximum frame rate of 30FPS, which is not too high either.

EZVIZ-Top

  • H.265 and H.264 video compression.
  • Adaptive Video Bit Rate
  • Adaptive Audio Bit Rate
  • Maximum bit rate: 2 Mbps

At the same time, for connectivity we enjoy a traditional RJ45 Ethernet port, however, the maximum bandwidth of the product is 72 Mbps, more than enough for a camera of these characteristics, despite the fact that the port is technically 10/ 100M, and the WiFi protocol is the b/g/n standard, yes, We can only connect it to 2,4GHz networks, something that already sounds familiar to us from other similar products.

As for storage, the microSD port supports cards up to 512 GB, however, the EZVIZ cloud service will depend on the paid subscription.

Configuration and use

Configuration is simple, we simply install the free EZVIZ application, compatible with iOS and Android, follow the steps and it will allow us to enjoy a multitude of options and notifications, among others:

  • Automatic detection of humans by AI
  • Automatic people tracking

In addition, when the system detects a potential danger, it activates a powerful siren and turns on two spotlights to deter it. In addition, its artificial intelligence is capable of detecting which people or vehicles are common and thus eliminates a false alarm. The performance in our analysis has been quite good analyzing inhabitants of the house and pets, such as the cat.

  • Push and email alerts
  • Camera remote control
  • 8x zoom for streaming
  • Set detection zones
  • video history
  • Alexa compatibility
  • Works on some Smart TVs

EZVIZ Cloud Play, which is the cloud subscription service that we have not been able to analyze, offers three plans:

  • Standard: 1 camera, with recording for 7 or 30 days depending on the price and unlimited storage from 4,99 euros per month (49,99 euros per year) to 9,99 euros per month (99,99 euros per year)
  • Premium: 4 cameras, with recording of 7 or 30 days depending on the price and unlimited storage from 7,49 euros per month (74,99 euros per year) to 14,99 euros per month (149,99 euros per year)

Editor's opinion

In short, this camera for the moment in Spain can only be purchased through the EZVIZ website itself, and in other usual points of sale such as Leroy Merlin and MediaMarkt from 79,99 euros. Although it is a fairly complete and easy-to-use camera, it offers a multitude of features without being too disruptive in price or capacity compared to other alternatives on the market, one more option that serves to add EZVIZ to your list if you already have others products.
